Save Lives and Protect Your Home with Kidde Worry-Free Smoke Alarms
As parents, we want the best for our family. I know that as a mother, I want to make sure I’m doing everything in my power to protect them and keep them safe. One of the ways we protect our family and personal possessions is by keeping a fire extinguisher equipment, and having a smoke alarm, fire sprinkler systems, and fire sprinkler installation throughout our home. It’s amazing how quickly a disaster can happen – so why not prevent it?
Already this year, the media has reported 71 residential fire deaths in California. To help keep families safer, California has passed a new law regarding smoke and combination alarms. As of July 1st, any battery-powered smoke alarm or combination (smoke and carbon monoxide) alarm approved for sale by the state fire marshal must be powered by a sealed, 10-year battery. This law will also hopefully decrease the likelihood that a firefighter would be injured or killed trying to save a life.
Kidde Worry-Free Smoke Alarms and Combination Alarms comply with the new law and are available throughout the state. In addition to possibly saving a life, alarms like the Kidde Worry-Free line save consumers about $40 in battery costs over the life of one alarm – and remove the burden of remembering to change batteries every six months!
Product Description
Kidde Worry-Free Smoke Alarms offer a variety of benefits to the millions of Americans who rely on continuous battery-powered smoke and fire detection in their homes. The alarms are powered by sealed, long-life lithium batteries for 10 years (the life of the alarm), meaning they are always on. Each of the four alarms includes features designed to address location-specific safety needs such as a light in the hallway for egress and innovative smart sensing technology for kitchens to minimize nuisance alarms caused by cooking.
Long-life Sealed Lithium Battery: Why It’s Needed
While smoke alarms are installed in 96 percent of US homes, 20 percent of those alarms are not functioning, mainly due to dead or missing batteries. Moreover, two-thirds of residential fire deaths occur in homes without smoke alarms or in homes with non-functioning smoke alarms. With a sealed, long-life lithium battery smoke alarm, homeowners can enjoy peace of mind knowing that their homes’ smoke alarms are always on – operating 24 hours per day, seven days per week for 10 years – that’s a decade of hassle-free protection. The National Fire Protection Association recommends replacing smoke alarms every 10 years.

My boyfriend’s father was a volunteer firefighter for 20 years, he has so many stories of such tragedies, can’t emphasize enough the importance of fire alarms.
These are great smoke alarms. I have used this brand and they work great. I even had one for use as my fire drill sound at my preschool. It is so important to have smoke alarms that work well.
I am a stickler about smoke detectors in my house. These sound like great ones.
Reading this blog post is a good reminder for me to have my husband check all of our smoke and fire alarms around the house.
Kidde is the only brand of smoke detector I use, period. I just really trust them.
Those are the smoke alarms we use in our home. They are dependable and work very well.
I really like the fact that you do not need to change the battery – a smoke detector is only as good as the battery
A few years ago we had our home winterized by the county winterization program. It included smoke and carbon dioxide detectors. We regularly test them and change batteries. Great thing to have.
I had no idea that there have been that many deaths already this year. That’s very scary! I’m going to replace our’s with these asap.
You just reminded me we need to get some new smoke alarms. Ours are as old as the hills and I am not even sure they work any longer.
Even if you are really good about making your house safe smoke alarms are easy to overlook! This is a great product! I’m thinking about changing ours and my father’s in favor of it!
I like ling lasting. Alarms are necessary in all homes.
we have a smoke alarm in each bedroom as well as in each hallway on all 3 levels of our home. we have a combo unit on each floor and regular smoke detectors elsewhere. safety first 🙂
These smoke alarms look great. It is so important to have a reliable one.
I almost died in a house fire 15 years ago. I know how important it is to have working fire alarms because we did not!
I need to get new smoke detectors. The ones we have now may be past their prime- not worth the risk!
We do have multiple smoke alarms. I do however hate when the go off in the night. Annnnd they always go at the same time!
These are great! When we bought our home, that was the first thing I went through to check – if there were enough smoke alarms in our home. There are. Sadly, my fiance runs a fan at night though so I always worry that I won’t hear it, I bet I will though as it’s just outside our door in hallway!
This is such an important post. These smoke alarms look really reliable.
Thanks for the gentle reminder it is time to check the smoke alarms again. When it is time for a replacement, I’ll look into the Kidde’s Worry Free Battery – or perhaps go all out and change them next month.
We have one of these smoke detectors– and knock on wood, haven’t had to rely on it yet!
Smoke alarms are so necessary in every home. Imagine that these small devices can save your life
This is a great family solution. I love that you don’t have to worry about battery changes!
We do have smoke detectors and regularly check the batteries. We also cover our escape plan when back to school comes around.
I actually won one of these! It’s a great addition to my home.
I change the batteries on mine twice a year when the time changes. I guess that means next month for me. I do have several with 10-year batteries though.
I’m interested for the battery alone. That’s a pretty awesome feature.
A fire in the home is one of my absolute worst fears. These definitely sound like great alarms.
I need one of these for my kids and their families
