I love to travel!  In fact, since a young age, I’ve enjoyed traveling.  I’ve traveled to Maui (at age 13), to Canada (at 15) and to Russia (at age 18).  Since starting my blog, I’ve had the opportunity to travel around the county, as well as to Mexico a few times.  I’ve visited Cancun, Mexico City and Ensenada, as well as various states throughout the United States.  It’s been awesome!  With that being said, I’ve also had my fair share of hotel stays – most being good with those not so good ones really standing out in my head.

I am so glad I am marrying a man who loves to travel as well.  Together we’ve already been on 3 cruises and it’s been awesome!  We’re even getting married on a cruise and then traveling for 7 days to the Mexican Riviera, including Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerta Vallarta.  I can’t wait!

This summer, Frank and I are planning on doing some traveling with our family (mostly on the weekends and then some on our own sans kids).  This coming weekend, we’re actually traveling to San Francisco.  It’s been a long time since I’ve been to San Francisco and I’m so excited!!!

Are you familiar with Choice Hotels?  They are one of the world’s leading hotel franchisor’s and are celebrating their 75th anniversary!  Woot woot!  Happy anniversary!  Choice Hotels is having an awesome contest this summer and I wanna tell you all about it!  It’s called #VacayGoneCrayCray!  If you know me (like our kids do), you know that I love to use the phrase “Cray Cray!”  So when I heard about this contest, I was immediately drawn to it!  With the contest, travelers will share their vacation misadventures for the chance to win a grand prize of $10,000 for a trip redo!  How freakin’ sweet is that, right?!!!

“Every traveler has a story about a vacation or business trip that didn’t necessarily go according to plan,” said Robert McDowell, senior vice president, marketing and distribution of Choice Hotels. “This summer and in honor of our 75th anniversary, we wanted to connect with our travelers in a fun and unexpected way. Through the #VacayGoneCrayCray contest, Choice Hotels can help turn those crazy misadventures back into positive memories.”

YouTube sensations Rhett & Link have signed on to generate buzz surrounding the contest, and will select the best of the worst trip experiences to reenact on their Good Mythical Morning Show every Thursday for their millions of viewers. For consideration and to be eligible for the grand prize, participants are required to submit their most extreme vacation misadventures beginning June 30, 2014, viawww.vacaygonecraycray.com or through the embedded video link on Rhett & Link’s YouTube channel. The first vacation misadventure will be reenacted by Rhett & Link on Thursday, July 17, 2014.

The contest entry deadline is August 27, 2014 at 11:59 PM, EST, and the potential winner will be announced September 4, 2014.

We like to travel. We haven’t been out of the country together yet, but one day I hope to. One of my bucket list items is a cross country road trip with the kids. I want to go to every state as well one day. We are planning a cruise next year. That has us really excited!

  6. Robin (Masshole Mommy) says:

We love traveling but really have not had much time for it for a few years now.We are hoping to start traveling again soon though.

We love to travel! We don’t get to do it as often as we’d like, but I’ll never turn down a fun trip – cray or no cray.

  9. I love traveling and I am actually lucky enough that I’ve hardly ever had a vacation mishap! Usually it’s crazy in a good way!

  10. We love to travel but don’t get to do it often at all! I will have to keep choice hotel in mind they sound great!

  11. Kathy says:

Sounds like you’ve gone on a lot of adventures! I want to travel more.

  14. I do love to travel, but fortunately have never had any large mishaps. We just came back from Puerto Rico and leave for North Carolina on Friday. France next spring and hopefully Italy next fall!

  15. I have had so many vacays gone cray cray that there would be too many to list. But I love traveling.

  16. Unfortunately, we don’t travel much. No funds to do that too much. But, when we do go on vacation, we do it right! LOL. Can’t say we have really had any ‘mishaps’ yet, but sure there will be some along the way!

  17. Jaime says:

I love that you guys are getting married on a cruise! We do enjoy traveling, but we’ve never taken a cruise and we’ve only been to Bahamas and Canada outside of the US. We’re pretty tame travelers, apparently.

  18. Amy Desrosiers says:

My last family vacation was a little crazy because we brought three little kids on a 13 hour road trip. That is enough said huh?

  19. We don’t travel too much, but I do love it when we do get to go somewhere. Luckily, we’ve not had too many mishaps. I did get stuck in NYC by myself overnight at the airport a couple of years ago. THAT was scary!

  20. I haven’t really been able to travel a lot in life. When I was younger we traveled from OK to MI to see family. Now that I live in MI I haven’t been able to get back to OK to visit. My husband and I have done some short road trips visiting in state and places like Canada and Ohio. So much fun but I would love to travel more!

  21. Debbie Denny says:

I love traveling. So much fun and congrats on marriage.

  22. Kecia says:

I wish we had traveled more before we had kids. I love taking them with us, but they are little and can’t be on the go as much as we can. And it’s hard to get someone to watch both (especially the baby with his diapers and bottles!) for more than 1 day. We do love staying in Comfort Suites when we do travel though!

  23. Felicia says:

I’l definitely have to remember Choice next time. We haven’t had many cray cray moments. There was one time that we took a wrong turn and I thought we were never going to be home again!

  24. Chrysa says:

That word cray cray is crazy! lol What a great sweepstakes with Choice Hotels. I didn’t realize so many companies are part of their chain. Thanks and good luck!

  25. Rosey says:

Getting married on a cruise sounds awesome to me!!
Have fun in San Fran., crossing my fingers there are no craycray mishaps! 🙂

  26. Jennifer B says:

I love traveling too! My husband and I love to go to as many places as possible. Living in Florida, we go on cruises very often.

  27. That’s so cool that you’ve traveled so much! I’d love to visit some of those places. We’ll be cruising to Cozumel this winter.

  28. Christie says:

It’s not real vacation without a little cray cray! Hope everything goes smoothly for wedding travels!

  29. Veronica says:

I love traveling although I don’t get to do it as often. I will go to Jamaica in October

  30. Theresa says:

I do love to travel. I just wish we could fit more of it in. Best wishes on your upcoming wedding!

  31. Lisa says:

I do love to travel but so far only one craycray trip. To New York with my husband and we had flight issues from the get go. Oye!

  32. I didn’t know about Choice Hotels! I can only hope to add a few more roadtrips to our summer travels this year!

  33. I hope that they gave you a credit or at least an apology for waking you up at 6 AM! That is not even cool!

  34. Oh wow, I don’t think I’ve ever had a crazy mishap at a hotel – but if I had that kind of noise, I’d be complaining like crazy!

  35. Pam says:

I do love to travel but not to the normal places that many people do. My husband and I like to go on road trips and see the US and many times the rural US. We like to explore different food establishments that usually are not well advertised. We have went on cruises and out of the country and to major cities but we have the best time just driving the back roads.

  36. This sounds like an awesome contest. My hubs and I have quite a few “Vaycay Gone Cray Cray Cray” stories that we could share!

  37. That’s so neat that you’re going to get married on a cruise! Sounds like such a lovely way to get married. 🙂

  38. Kiwi says:

Ive entered the vacay gone cray cray! i’ve def had a vacay gone cray cray experience and I need a serious re-do!!

  39. I love traveling as well. It’s always so much fun to experience a new place. I’m not sure if I’ve stayed at any of the Choice Hotels but I will definitely look into them the next time I need a room.

  40. I love traveling. We’ve slowed down a bit with the kiddos, but I can’t wait to pick back up.

  41. We love to travel. We just went to Palm Spring for the 4th and have about two more trips planned before the summer is over.

  42. becka says:

My family could be the spokes people for vacay gone cray cray lol. We stopped calling in vacation and started calling it an accident waiting to happen.

  43. I’ve never heard of Choice Hotels but will have to check them out because I want to be able to say: #VacayGoneCrayCray! And, all in a great way 😉

Btw, next year we’re traveling to Ireland, Argentina and my homeland, Puerto Rico, sooooo can’t wait!
