My future mother-in-law is an amazing cake decorator!  Every time I see her cakes on Facebook (and in real life) I am totally amazed!  It inspires me to get creative and strive to do just as an amazing of a job on my cakes as she does hers.

Recently, I attended a baby shower for my little sister who is expecting another girl.  We had a great time with family and friends.  In fact, both of my sisters are pregnant – lots of girls on the way!

The baby shower was so much fun and the cake was absolutely gorgeous!!!  Helen made a 3-layer baby shower cake that was beautiful on the outside as well as the inside.  She made all the decorations out of fondant and gum paste.  Included in the decorations was a rattle, baby shoe with shoelaces, a crown and some gorgeous handmade flowers!

She also made a cake with cookie pops.  She used a styrofoam towered base and attached candy dipped Oreos to the outside.  She printed out adorable onesies in different colors to put on the outside of the candy dipped cookies.  I hadn’t seen anything like this before, but loved the idea!!!  I don’t know how she does it, but she does an amazing job every time!

Thank you so much Shannon for posting these pictures, and for the nice things you said. The baby shower was Awesome, and I just loved making the cake and cookie stand for your sister. I am a cake artist and consider myself a creative person, I’m always excited when given the chance to express that side of my personality. It was such fun making all the parts to the cake, your sister said she wanted bright colors, and I think I gave her that. I’m so glad she loved it as much as I loved making it for her.

Love the cake! Very cute. This must be the year for pregnancies; I know at least ten gals that are pregnant right now.
