I remember my mom drinking hot tea in the morning every day when I was growing up.  She would heat the water, steep the tea bag and then remove it, while adding lots of milk and sugar.  I remember hearing the clinking of the spoon against the mug as she stirred the sugar and milk into the warm cup of goodness.  Now as a mother myself, I feel a sense of contentment when I prepare my own cups of hot tea.

Growing up, I was very close to my mom.  I remember laughing a lot with her!  In fact, I recently had the chance to visit with her a short time while I was in Florida for a blogging trip.  It was great to spend time with her and reminisce of the past, as well as have some good laughs together.  I enjoyed a cup of Oprah‘s Chai Tea with my mom when I was visiting with her and enjoyed the taste of the Teavana Oprah Chai Tea.  I even put together a Mother’s Day Gift Pack for her to continue enjoying in Florida.

I have many friends who agree that tea has played an important role in their lives and in the relationships they have with their mothers, grandmothers and girlfriends.  We cherish the time we spend enjoying a cup of tea with our mother, grandmother or a girlfriend.   Sitting down for a cup of tea, either by ourselves or with loved ones, creates an oasis of tranquility we deserve in our busy lives.

In anticipation of Mother’s Day, Oprah Winfrey, Teavana and Starbucks want us to continue the ritual of meaningful conversation over steeped tea.  Cherishing her own daily tea ritual, Oprah worked with one of Teavana‘s leading teaologists to develop her own signature chai tea.  This delicious tea features a bold infusion of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and cloves blended with loose-leaf black tea and rooibos.

Teavana Oprah Chai Tea launched at Starbucks and Teavana locations in the U.S. and Canada on April 29th, 2014 with a special buy one get one free offering on Mother’s Day, May 11th.  To make tea time even more meaningful, Starbucks will make a donation for each Teavana Oprah Chai Tea product sold to benefit educational opportunities for youth through the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation.  That’s a pretty awesome way to give back on Mother’s Day!

Do you have favorite memories of your mom, grandma or friend involving tea?  Have you tried the Teavana Oprah Chai Tea from Starbucks?

I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Starbucks. I received a promotional item and a gift card to facilitate my review.
