Go Bold with Kids in the Kitchen
As our kids get have been getting older, they have expressed more of an interest in baking. Our oldest son, Brian, recently expressed a desire to help me bake up some Pillsbury Funfetti Cupcakes. I was all for it!
I love spending this quality time with him in the kitchen. Not only does it give me a chance to teach him, but it also gives us the chance to create memories as mom and son. Brian did a great job! He measured the water (while I measured the oil) and even broke an egg open to get the egg white. I was so impressed! He then mixed the batter in our KitchenAid.
Once we had the four different batter colors mixed (orange, green, blue and yellow), it was time to fill the cupcake pans. For this activity, Brian got his little brother and cousin involved. It was all hands on deck making the Pillsbury Funfetti Cupcakes!
While the kids filled the cupcake pans, it was the adults who put the pans in the oven. The kids were so excited to see what their creations would look like when they were done baking. And of course were excited to decorate them and eat them too! I had so much fun having the kids helping in the kitchen and look forward to the next baking project we do together!

What a fun mix of colors! My grandsons would be very excited to eat these and I can just hear them now deciding on what color they want to eat first!
Wow – how fun is that!! Perfect for Easter decorating too. You definitely have your hands full in the kitchen! Don’t you love your Kitchen Aid?
We didn’t go bold but made the aqua blue the other day for a birthday and was so pretty. The kids would love the various colors in any cake or cupcake, the more the merrier for them
I love the orange all-star! This is a fun spring break activity for the kids.
I am a big fan of getting kids involved in the kitchen and this is a great and fun way of involving them. I like the bold colors and the funfetti flavor.
This is so much fun and perfect for spring time or Easter. I love all the colors and I know my kids would love it as well.
Love the bright colors. And getting the kids involved while they are young is a must!
I am going to have to make some of the Cupcakes for Summer and have them as a treat with ice cream. They look fun and easy to make and I bet they are delicious.
my favorite part are the candy bits in the lid for added pizazz
Great looking cupcakes here. Keep encouraging Brian to be creative. That’s a very good thing!!
Wow! They didn’t have fun colors like that when my kids were younger. Just the Funfetti with sprinkles of color! 🙂 Looks like your adorable kids had a great time making (and eating) those cupcakes! 🙂
how fun, my kids would love to do something like this in the kitchen!
Love this, I made rainbow cupcakes a while back and they were a huge hit! Love baking with my boys 🙂
Love the fun bright mixture of colors. This would be so fun to create.
so fun to make and even though the colors are bight, they look fun to eat. I want a cupcake with orange frosting 🙂
My kids would love making these! Two of them are really into cooking and one is just into eating. But they’d all love these!
This looks like something for me and my son to enjoy and get all kinds of messy which we LOVE to do!
There is nothing better then spending time in the kitchen with the kids! I love baking with my kids. These bright colors are great! I can’t wait to make some with my kids. I love how the used the little scoops to mix their colors. Great idea!
I love all the colors, this would be so much fun for my son. I will have to pick up some of these mixes.
Love the bright colors! I know my daughter would love to use blue, pink, and purple, her favorite colors 🙂
I love the bold colors and love the idea of letting the kids make their own combination cupcakes.
I really prefer this idea to trying to handle the food coloring with kids. That liqid dye gets everywhere and stains everyone’s hands. Here you have bright kid friendly color already there – wonderful!
what a great idea to make baking experience for kids colorful and fun to make..kinda experiment for them.
Wow I love those colors!
The grand kids would love this.
I love those tie-dyed cupcakes. So fun!
Those colors are so bright and fun. My nephews would love to make cupcakes with these great color combinations.
