Fitness Blogger Meet & Tweet
Last year, I was invited to attend Fit Blog LA. Let me tell you – I had so much fun! Not only did I get to hang out with friends, but I also had the opportunity to learn about health and fitness and take home some pretty awesome goodies with me!
The Meet & Tweet took place at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, California. It was a gorgeous location right on the beach. We were greeted with friendly staff and received a name badge, “Fitness” Magazine and a schedule of the day’s activities.
Once we checked in, we turned the corner and it was an amazing view! Plus, there was a pool filled with big, pink beach balls! That was unlike anything I’d seen before! Definitely a blogger photo opp, right?
There was tons of food available before the Meet & Tweet started. The food included Strawberries and Blackberries on kabob sticks and healthy fruit bars. I really dug the fresh fruit – oh and the flavored water! Plus, we each were given a Camelbak water bottle. Score!!!
One of the speakers was Tony Horton, best known for his P90X Fitness Training Program. He was really friendly and enthusiastic! He even had a jumping competition with one of our pregnant blogging friends – and humbly lost. Ha ha!
At the Fitness Blogger Meet & Tweet (aka #FitBlogLA), there were quite a few brands. We were each given a card and had to get a sticker from each of the vendors when we visited them. Once our card was filled out, we would turn it in for a great big goody bag! One of the first booths we stopped by was the CLIF Bar booth. They introduced us to their new flavors and gave us samples to take home with us.
The next stop was the Saucony Shoes Booth. Wow, did they have some amazing shoes! Not only were the shoes good looking, but they were super comfortable as well. And they even sent us home with our very own pair! I actually wore them throughout the rest of the day.
The next stop was the Athleta booth. We got to try on a shirt and take a pic, but then had to give it back. I loved the shirt I tried on and was somewhat bummed I couldn’t wear it for the rest of the day. It’s all good though. We were off to the next stop!
The next stop was the Dermalogica booth. They were doing skin type tests and recommending products for the different skin types. They encouraged the bloggers to take a snapshot and tag them on Instagram. So we took one with the 3 of us girls (left to right: Caroline, Me, Chelsea).
The final stop before lunch was the Crystal Light booth. Oh my gosh, was that drink good! Walking around in the sun made me work quite a thirst and the Crystal Light Passionfruit flavor was amazing! All you have to do is squirt some in your water bottle or in a glass of water and wah-lah! You have a delicious, low-calorie drink!
So, after walking around to more than half the booths at the Meet & Tweet, it was lunchtime! Thank goodness because I was super hungry and the food looked amazing! I even had two portions of some of the dishes. There was salad, shrimp, salmon, lots of fresh fruit and amazing peanut butter cookies. Oh my gosh, it was so good!
After filling our tummies up with some yummy food, it was time to visit the rest of the vendors at the Meet & Tweet. The first stop was the Roxy booth, where I received a sweet tank top and a pair of workout leggings. These would definitely come in handy.
Then was one of my favorite stops – the Oakley Women Sunglass booth. They gave me the most awesome pair of sunglasses I’ve ever owned! They were even polarized – giving my eyes the ultimate protection from the sun. I was so excited to have these new sunglasses and wore them for the rest of the day! We then headed to the photo booth, where we took some crazy fun pics together! Ha ha – it was a good time!
After taking pictures, we had one more stop – the Birkenstock booth. They had so many cute colored pairs of shoes, but I chose the green pair. I figured they would look awesome with my skin tone and I was right! Not to mention they were comfortable and cute! I was one happy mama at this point!
By this point, we had our cards all filled up from our visits to the vendors throughout the event. It was now time to head over to the table and swap our cards for a blogger swag bag. Let me tell you – there were lots of goodies in there too!
I received product samples and a swag bag for participating in this event.
