On a good morning, I love to serve freshly cooked sausage and scrambled eggs with sliced strawberries and bananas.  I may not serve that for breakfast every morning, but I definitely am good about making sure the kids eat breakfast before heading out the door to school.  It’s funny though, because as good as I am at making sure the kids eat breakfast, I’m not that good with myself.

Breakfast for myself has never really been one of my strong points.  I like to graze during the day and most often the biggest meal of the day is dinner.  However, when I was growing up (and even now as an adult), I often forget to eat breakfast!  How do I forget?  Well, often times, I’m working to get the kids to get ready for school – making sure they’ve eaten, their homework is in their backpack, their hair is brushed, their teeth are clean and they’re wearing clean clothes – and it’s a mad dash heading out the door!

As parents, we see to it that our kids don’t miss breakfast – and we should do the same for ourselves!  Did you know that missing out on something to eat slows our metabolism, zaps our energy, and makes us even hungrier later in the day?  I didn’t know that!  To break these bad habits, Nutri-Grain offers a healthy cereal bar – perfect for all our grab-and-go days.

Nutri-Grain Fruit & Oat Harvest cereal bars are delicious!  They are also available in two different flavors – Country Strawberry and Blueberry Bliss.  The Nutri-Grain Fruit & Oat Harvest cereal bars include a hearty combination of protein, real fruit, and whole grains to help us not only survive, but thrive all morning long!  I love that I can fit the Nutri-Grain Fruit & Oat Harvest Cereal Bars in my purse, in the kids’ backpacks and lunch boxes and in emergency kits in the car!

I’m always on the go, this morning is the same way, I wish I had one of these bars right about now. NOt eating till lunch isn’t good for you and makes me crabby.

Mornings are so hard for me to remember to eat. These look perfect for me to take along when I drop the kids off at school which could take up to 45 mins.

This is totally me too.. running around getting the kids ready for their things, and forgetting myself. These would be perfect, I would keep a stash in the minivan!

I haven’t tried these, but do regularly grab some type of granola bar as a meal replacement. Will look into these!

  7. I’d love to try the Country Strawberry option…this kind of fruit bar is right up my alley – would be nice to tote along during bike riding in the summertime.
