Splenda SWEET SWAPS The Motherhood Disclosure

#spon #SWEETSWAPS #Splenda #Sugar

If you know me, then you are probably pretty familiar with the fact that I love sugar!  I drink Iced Tea often and usually use 4-5 packets of sugar in a 16 oz glass.  It’s so funny to see the looks on our kids face and hear their comments about how I don’t get hyper when I put all that sugar in my iced tea.  I’m telling you though – it sounds like a lot of sugar, but when you taste the iced tea, it’s really not that sweet.

When Splenda® and The Motherhood invited me to participate in the “Sweet Swaps” campaign, I have to admit I was a little nervous.  I’m telling you, I use sugar for everything!  I use it when I bake, as well as to sweeten my drinks, including  iced tea, hot tea and coffee.  I have friends who love Splenda and even carry them with them in their purse, so I know it’s a product I can trust.  So over the next week, I’ll be making the swap from sugar to to Splenda and will be sharing my thoughts and experiences with you here on The Mommy-Files.

As part of my participation in this campaign, I was provided with a variety of Splenda® products.  Included in the variety was SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Packets, SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Granulated, SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Flavors for Coffee, SPLENDA® Sugar Blend (contains sugar) and SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend (contains sugar).

If you’re baking with Splenda® (like I will be), you are probable curious how the conversions will work.  Here’s a helpful tip: When substituting SPLENDA® Sugar Blend for sugar in recipes, use half the amount of SPLENDA® Sugar Blend as you would use sugar.  Remember, one-half cup of SPLENDA® Sugar Blend has the sweetness of 1 cup of sugar.

Another tip would be on how to store your SPLENDA® baked goodies: Baked goods with SPLENDA® Sugar Blend will stay fresh for 24 hours, when stored in an airtight container at room temperature.  If you wish to keep your baked goods longer, wrap well and freeze.
