Fight Off Winter Allergies with Filtrete Air Filters + Giveaway
The cooler months are here and that means that cold and flu season is here too! While we can’t always protect our kids from germs at school, there are many things we can do to help reduce bacteria and viruses from the air our family is breathing in our home.
Have you heard of the Filtrete Healthy Living Filter? It features high performing electrostatic technology that proactively captures dust, bacteria, germs, viruses and allergens in our air. For maximum performance, you should change your filter every 90 days.
I don’t know about you, but I battle allergies, even in the fall. Did you know that you could experience allergies year-round? If you or a family member is experiencing allergy symptoms, you may want to consider washing your bedding more frequently, removing shoes at the door and changing out your air filter on a regular basis. You may also want to consider using the Filtrete Healthy Living Filter, which captures up to 93 percent of airborne particles, including Pollen, Smoke Particles, Pet Dander, Household Dust, Smog Contamination, Dust Mite Debris, Lint, Mold Spores, Bacteria and Particles that can carry viruses from the air passing through the filter.
If you are suffering from allergies during the Winter Season, you should definitely check out the Filtrete Healthy Living Filter, MPR 1900. It’s ideal for allergens and small particles like bacteria and viruses. It captures up to 93 percent of large airborne particles, such as household dust, pollen, mold spores and dust mite debris, from the air passing through the filter. The filter also captures 4X times more microscopic particles, such as smoke, smog, pet dander and particles that can carry bacteria and viruses, than ordinary pleated filters. The Filtrete Healthy Living Filter lasts up to three months and can be purchased at Lowe’s, Target, Walmart, Costco and your local hardware store. The filter retails for $19.99-$21.99.

Having a daughter with allergies, we keep track of the dates on our family calender.
when it tarts to look dirty
Of course, how often you change your filter has a lot to do with how often your heating and air conditioner systems are on. One professional suggested we buy colored filters, and when the filter looks white, it is time to change it!
We try to go it every fall before turn on the heat. With a daughter with asthma we need clean filtes.
I mark it on my calendar…. and change filters once a month!
We have several asthmatics so we check and change our filters regularly.
we change ours every 3 months
We keep track on the calendar..give or take a few days
I date the filter when I put them in and check on them at the first of each month to see the wear on them.
I know it’s time to change the filter after three months.
I commented on a non-giveaway post: http://www.themommy-files.com/2014/01/on-the-path-to-home-ownership/comment-page-1/#comment-344401
We try to change ours once a month.
Thank you!
My husband changes it every couple of months and more during the winter.
its my husband’s job…so it never gets done..less than once a year after I beg for months
I know because I have it written on the calendar to keep up with. Then I ask my husband to take care of it. Months later, I finally change them myself.
I have a sheet of paper on my furnace that shows when I replace the filter. If I forget to do it every month then I do it when I get my PUD bill.
I change the furnace filter when I remember to do it.
