First off, I want to start by saying this was one of the best Thanksgivings ever!!!  It was filled with family, friends, yummy food and memories I’ll keep with me forever.  I felt so happy and blessed this Thanksgiving and it turned out to be one that I’ll never forget…ever!!!

Lots of things were happening on Thanksgiving Day.  First, our oldest son (Brian) turned 10.  Second,, we had all 6 kids for the Thanksgiving holiday week.  Third, we had a full house for Thanksgiving, including my dad and stepmom, my future mother and father-in-law, and one of my best friends, her kids and her mom.

The day started with Frank and I cleaning up the house and getting ready for company.  He was in charge of cooking the turkeys and let me tell you, they turned out amazing!!!!  He cooked one on the rotisserie and another he smoked on the barbecue.  It was amazing!

Once we had the turkey sliced up, it was time to dish up food for the kids.  Included in our feast was Turkey (2 of them actually), Sweet Potato Casserole, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Corn Casserole, Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Cranberry Sauce, Rolls and Sourdough Bread.  It was amazing!!!

After stuffing ourselves with an amazing dinner, we went around the room and shared what we were thankful for.  We started with our friend, Caroline, followed by all the kids.  I was the second to last person to share what I was thankful for.  I felt so blessed and happy and was doing everything I could to not tear up while I was talking.  Then it was Frank’s turn.

He thanked everyone for joining us on Thanksgiving Day.  He also talked about how thankful he was for a beautiful woman (me – hee hee) and for our big, growing, crazy Brady Bunch family.  Then he said he was thankful that everyone was there to witness him, asking me (as he got down on one knee and pulled a lit up ring box out of his pocket) to be his wife.  Then he looked at me and said, “Will you marry me?”  Oh my gosh!!!!  My heart stopped and I could feel my face turning red.  I was so surprised and overjoyed.  My best friend just asked me to be his wife!!!!

I immediately hugged him and buried my head in his shoulder.  I was in gleeful shock!  This was really happening and I had no idea (lol – like I would anyways).  He was still down on his knee with the ring box open and I could hear squealing and happy cheering in the background.  I could also hear my stepmom and friend frantically looking for a camera and then trying to figure out how to work the camera.  It was so awesome!

The ring was absolutely beautiful and perfect!  As soon as we put it on my finger, everyone wanted to see it.  Wow!  I couldn’t take my eyes off how beautiful and perfect it was.  This man seriously has great taste!!!  I can be reminded every day I look at my ring about how he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.  It still makes me grin from ear to ear and my heart flutter when I think about it.

While we didn’t get the actual proposal on video, my stepmom was able to get a video of us seconds after it happened.  It was the most amazing, romantic, breathtaking proposal I ever could have imagined.  And now…I get to marry the love of my life…my best friend, Franklin Gurnee!!  Let the wedding planning begin!!!  Woot woot!!!!!
