From the moment I found out I was pregnant with each of my boys, I wanted the absolutely best for them.  I remember turning on classical music on my walkman (yes, that long ago) and putting the headphones on my belly so my babies could hear it and perhaps become geniuses one day.  While I have no scientific evidence for this idea, it still demonstrates my desire to give each of my children the best possible start in life.  When my boys were little, I taught them baby sign language and before they learned to read, I taught them the ABCs.  I loved teaching them, but especially when they were hands-on activities.

I was recently introduced to CHALK Preschool, a website that offers a hands-on educational experience that incorporates art, laughter and the imparting of knowledge in a safe and inspirational online preschool setting.  CHALK Preschool Online education goes beyond pushing buttons on a computer.  It also provides hands-on activities that give you the opportunity to take your preschooler exploring, both inside and outside.  You’ll be guided by a real person on the website and with the help of family and friends, your preschooler will actually be applying what he or she learns to the real world via nature walks, cooking lessons and artistic projects. 

The CHALK Preschool Online lesson plans are derived from the successful curriculum in their brick and mortar preschools.  The comprehensive curriculum includes core subjects such as literacy, math and science.  Supplementing these subjects are daily art projects specifically developed to enhance each lesson.  Music and dance are also a part of the curriculum that will help develop your preschooler’s motor skills while having fun.
