If you follow The Mommy-Files, you are more than likely aware that we have a pretty big family – 6 kids to be exact.  With a big family, the cost of meals can add up pretty dang quickly!  However, we do it and stay on a budget at the same time.  Are you wondering how we do it?  It’s simple.

For every meal, we serve a main course (the meat).  Then there are lots of fillers.  By filler, I mean breads, salads, vegetables, potatoes or rice.  One of our favorite sides is the Betty Crocker Au Gratin Potatoes.  They even have a box that is “Family Size.”  I love that their products are yummy, easy to make and budget-friendly!
