“The Little Mermaid” Makes a Splash with New Merchandise at the Disney Store #LittleMermaidEvent

When I was a young, red-headed girl, I loved watching The Little Mermaid!  In fact, I just happened to have a crush on a boy named Eric at my school, so you can imagine how much I loved The Little Mermaid, which had a redhead and a dark-haired prince named Eric.  I knew the words to the songs and would sing along to the movie, as well as in my room at night.  Oh yes, I was the little girl in the two-story bedroom singing out the window to the moon and the rest of the neighborhood.

You can imagine my excitement when I found out that I would be attending a cocktail dinner and product preview in honor of the soon-to-be-released Diamond Edition of The Little Mermaid.  It was amazing how the team transformed the room into an underwater dream from The Little Mermaid!  At the cocktail dinner, I was introduced to some awesome new products inspired by The Little Mermaid – perfect for the holidays!

The product line included toys, dresses, shirts, and more!  We not only had the opportunity to see the items, but we were also able to get a closer look at them.  Here are a few of the items that were my favorites of the night!

Under the Sea Surprise Ariel

Little girls can play with Princess Ariel like never before!  When placed in water, Ariel’s fin lights up, creating a magical rainbow of color.  Under the Sea Surprise Ariel also sings and says sounds and phrases from favorite movie moments.  You can purchase Under the Sea Surprise Ariel at the Disney Store for $29.99.

Disney Princess Ariel Royal Ship

Girls will love playing out all of Ariel’s adventures at sea!  Aboard her two-level, expandable ship, Ariel can steer from the top deck or slide below to her underwater world; complete with purple vanity and mermaid-princess bed, jelly fish chandelier, treasure chest and various “treasures” to store this secret hiding place.  Find magical surprises, such as her best friend Sebastian who is hiding under the serving platter, or say hello to Flounder who is swimming outside, just like in the movie.  You can purchase the Disney Princess Ariel Royal Ship at the Disney Store for $49.99.

The Little Mermaid Plush Collection

Inspired by Disney’s animated classic, The Little Mermaid, this plush collection from Disney Store features all your favorite characters from the film, including Ariel, Prince Eric, Ursula, Flounder, Sebastian, Max, Scuttle, and Flotsam and Jetsam.  The Plush characters can be purchased at the Disney Store for anywhere from $9.50 to $19.95 each. 

Ariel Musical Light Up Dress

This was probably one of my favorite items of the night.  In fact, I kind of wish it was made in my size!  Your little girl can shimmer and shine just like Ariel does in their very own Ariel Musical Light Up Dress.  Ariel’s dress features magical motion-activated lights and music!  With just a twirl, the dress lights up and plays “Under the Sea.”  You can purchase the Ariel Musical Light Up Dress at the Disney Store for $34.99.

Ariel Costume Collection for Girls

I bet this Halloween, we’ll be seeing a lot of Little Mermaid inspired costumes, and let me tell you – they are adorable!  Under the sea or above ground, your little mermaid will feel part of a fairytale world when wearing this Ariel Costume Collection for girls.  She’ll find everything she needs for happily ever after moments, including Ariel Costume, Tiara and Wand.  The Costume Collection items can be purchased at the Disney Store and range anywhere from $12.95 to $44.95.

Disney Reigning Beauties Ariel Collection by Sephora

The Ariel Collection by Sephora features assortment of color cosmetics, a signature fragrance and princess-worthy accessories that are inspired by the world under the sea and the bold determination of Ariel from the classic Disney animated film, The Little Mermaid.

There were a few other items I really loved and would have loved to purchase if I could.  These included the Holiday Princess 2013 (Ariel), The Little Mermaid wallet and DVD, Ariel and Prince collectable dolls, and a few other items.
