Target Cottonelle Routine 1

With 6 kids running around the house this summer, it was extra important to make sure they were all maintaining a healthy bathroom routine so everyone stayed in good health.  After all, they were all touching the same game remotes, iPads, foods, and other items around the house with their hands.  With the first day of school just around the corner, we especially didn’t want sickness to spread like wildfire in our home!  Thanks to Cottonelle and Target, we were able to maintain a healthy bathroom routine this summer.

A few weeks ago, Frank and I headed to our local Target in search for the newly designed container of Cottonelle Flushable Cleansing Cloths.  My boys have used the Cleansing Cloths for quite some time and it’s something I’ve used off and on as well.  So when I heard that Target was having a special on them, I had to head over and check it out!

We found an awesome deal on both the Cottonelle Bath Tissue and the Cottonelle Cleansing Cloths at Target.  With the purchase of two 18-packs of Cottonelle Toilet Tissue, we received a FREE Upright Dispenser.  Plus, the 18-packs of Cottonelle Toilet Tissue were only $10.00 each (normally $11.49 each) and we could choose from Ultra ComfortCare or CleanCare.  We loaded up our grocery cart with two packages of the Cottonelle Ultra ComfortCare Packages of Bath Tissue and a Dispenser of Cottonelle Cleansing Cloths and then headed to checkout.  You can see more pictures from our shopping experience HERE.

I had some Acrylic Jewels and Glitter Puffy Paint, so we put the girls to work on decorating the Cottonelle Upright Dispenser for the Kids Bathroom.  We started with the Puffy Paint, but ended up using the hot glue gun instead.  It was less messy and the heated glue gun sticks dried more quickly, preventing the jewels from sliding down the side of the container – ha ha!  Ok, back to the maintaining a healthy bathroom routine.

6 Ways You Can Teach Kids How to Maintain a Healthy Bathroom Routine

1 – Teach them.  I believe that children learn by watching and as parents, we are the primary example they learn from in life.  If they see us wash our hands and maintain a healthy bathroom routine, chances are pretty good they’ll want to do the same.  When it comes to keeping hands cleaned, they can use hand sanitizer, soap and warm water (remember to wash for 20 seconds or sing “Happy Birthday” twice), or even use the Cottonelle Flushable Cleansing Cloths.

2 – Remind them.  I find that our kids get so busy with school, homework, and playing that sometimes they just honestly forget to maintain a healthy bathroom routine.  So it is my job to gently remind them to wash their hands or clean up the counter after they make a mess.  There will eventually come a time when they do remember it…which leads me to the next step.

3 – Praise them.  Praise them when they remember to maintain a healthy bathroom routine.  This includes flushing the toilet, wiping the toilet seat if they make a mess, and washing their hands.  Kids (like adults) thrive off of praise, so be sure to do whenever their behavior warrants it!

4 – Make it fun!  Kids love to have fun, so why not make their bathroom routine fun?  We made it fun for our kids by letting them decorate the Cottonelle Upright Dispenser with Acrylic Jewels and Puffy Paint.  Let your kids express their imagination and help decorate the bathroom – it could be as simple as choosing the shower curtain or tissue box holder.

5 – Be prepared.  Half the battle is making sure you have kid-friendly bathroom products on hand and readily available.  I’ve found that Cottonelle Ultra ComfortCare Bath Tissue and Cottonelle Cleansing Cloths are a great way help our kids maintain a healthy bathroom routine.  I love the Upright Dispenser because it makes it easy for the kids to get the cleansing cloths out one at a time, avoiding the spreading of germs and getting them as clean as possible.

You can help teach your kids how to maintain a healthy bathroom routine by using Cottonelle Bath Tissue and Cleansing Cloths in your home.  Be sure to take advantage of this special offer before it runs out at your local Target!  For more products and promotions, check out and fan Cottonelle on Facebook and Twitter.
