Our family recently traveled down to Carlsbad, California for the KIA Classic.  We had the opportunity to test drive a gorgeous car (the 2014 KIA Sorento SX), visit LEGOLAND California, walk the grounds of the KIA Classic, and stay in the luxurious and family-friendly Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad, California.  It was an awesome weekend filled with family, friends, and lots of fun!

I knew from the moment we pulled up to the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort that it was going to be one of the most beautiful and family-friendly hotels to stay in.  The parking attendants quickly greeted us and opened our doors, as well as helped us to get our luggage onto a cart and into the hotel safely.  The concierge was even friendlier and offered assistance by providing a map and asking if we would like to take a Sunday paper.  She pointed us in the direction to go to get to our room and smiled.

The boys were in awe as we headed towards our room.  Ok, I should say that two of the boys were in awe, since Sammy was asleep on my shoulder (he fell asleep in the car and it was relatively late when we arrived).  We headed to our room and I tucked the boys into bed.  They were out within a matter of seconds.  Frank stayed in the room and turned on the television, while I headed to the lounge to meet up with my two of my blogging friends (Jen from The Mom Reviews and Jasmine from Simply Real Moms).  It was great seeing these women, even with me being as tired as I felt.  I knew we were in for a weekend of fun, sun, and new friendships!

The room we stayed in had a gorgeous view of the pool.  Oh how I wish we would have had the opportunity to spend some time in the pool, but it was pretty chilly when we were there and didn’t have too much down time to go and enjoy it.  I truly hope we get a chance to enjoy it another time!

THE POOL

Here are some more up close and personal shots of the pool.  You definitely are treated like royalty at the pool!  Check out the cabana with all the towels – wow!  They even have little containers and a large bottle of sunscreen that you could use, just in case you didn’t bring your own.  Plus there is a gorgeous view from the pool as well.

THE BEDROOM

When we arrived to our bedroom, we found two Queen-sized beds and a very inviting layout.  We had housekeeping bring in a rollaway bed because all three of the boys would have been squished if we tried to fit them into one bed.  The housekeeping staff promptly brought the rollaway bed in and put fresh sheets on it right in front of us.  She was super sweet and very welcoming and helpful!

The boys loved the flat screen television and even their LEGO mini-figures loved it too!  Plus, the room had an office area and a reading area.  These made for great places to draw, work, and eat!  Plus there was lots of natural light coming into the room through the sliding door.

THE BATHROOM

I really loved the bathroom!  Don’t ask me why, but this is also the first place I look after I see the beds.  I always love seeing the complimentary toiletries available – including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and even mouthwash sometimes!  I especially loved that the toilet was in it’s own room.  I know, I know – but that’s important!

THE SPA

One place I would have loved to check out at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort would have been the Spa.  Frank snapped a few pictures, but we didn’t have the opportunity to experience it.  You’ll also find a Fitness Center, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  If you’re looking for the opportunity to get pampered, you’ll want to check out the Haim Salon.  At the Haim Salon, you’ll find the team specializes in cutting, styling, color services, shampoos, blow-outs, and up-does.  Plus they offer manicures and pedicures, as well as bridal and party makeup!

THE GAME ROOM

One of our favorite places to visit and that we had wished we spent more time in was the Game Room!  It was awesome!  In the Game Room, we found an Air Hockey Table, a Pool Table, video games, a surfing game, Shuffleboard, and more.  We could have easily spent a few hours playing games as a family down there.  The boys thought it was so great!  I highly recommend the Game Room.

FLOWERS AROUND THE RESORT

When I take photos, I love to include flowers!  Let me tell you – there were a lot of flowers at the Park Aviara Hyatt Resort!  Check out the gorgeous flowers we found.

If you’re looking for the best places to stay while you’re in Carlsbad, I highly recommend the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort.  We were extremely satisfied and would love to visit again!
