Seductive Tables Sushi Style 1

I love decorating for baby showers, birthday parties, holidays and special events, so when I had the opportunity to create a Seductive Tablescape for Two, I was all over it!  I have looked through Moll Anderson’s new book, Seductive Tables for Two: Tablescapes, Picnics, and Recipes That Inspire Romance so many times!  There were so many different tablescapes in her book to get inspired by – different colors, themes and holidays.

I was excited but nervous at the same time about what tablescape I wanted to create.  Frank and I had planned on having sushi for Valentine’s Day and when I saw the Sushi Styled Seductive Tablescape, I knew pretty much what theme and color I wanted.  So, it was off to my local Walmart, with my friend Caroline, I went.

I don’t visit the Kitchen & Dining Section very often, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with the dishes they carried.  But I found the perfect ones.  I found some black and red plates and bowls and a black bowl with pretty white flowers.  The red and black bowls would hold the rice and sushi and then then black bowl with white flowers would hold the Edamame.  At Walmart I also found a pretty votive to hold a tea light candle, an artificial rose, and cloth napkins.  I couldn’t find napkin holders or chopsticks, so I decided to buy some beads to wrap around the napkin and then used the chopsticks from the restaurant.

I love how our Sushi Style Seductive Table turned out.  I love the deep red and black combination!  It really makes the food look appetizing and the table look pretty and romantic.  I can’t wait until we put together our next Seductive Table for Two!

If you want to learn how to create Seductive Tables for Two, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of Moll Anderson’s book, Seductive Tables for Two: Tablescapes, Picnics, and Recipes That Inspire Romance.  Throughout the book, you’ll see how photographs reveal Moll’s seductive tablescape vision with candles, flowers, linens, and a selection of inspiring details that turn ordinary tables into romantic rendezvous.  You’ll find a variety of recipes and tips throughout the book as well.  The book is available at Walmart, retailing for $19.95.
