The Mommy-Files Attends the Red Carpet Event at The GRAMMYs! #LoveThisCity
Red Carpet, cameras, bright lights, gorgeous dresses, celebrities, music….the Grammys! I travel down to Los Angeles all the time for social media events, but this past Sunday was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in my blogging career. It was absolutely priceless!
When I received the invitation to attend the Red Carpet Event at the Grammy Awards, I was thrilled and my immediate response was, “Heck yeah!” Then I was given the option to bring a guest and I didn’t even hesitate. I wanted to bring Frank. I was super excited to see the dresses, the celebrities and the world that is the Red Carpet.
On our way down to Los Angeles, I was texting with my online blogging friend, Chelsea Day from Someday I’ll Learn. We’ve worked on campaigns and twitter parties together over the past few years, and it was so awesome to finally get to meet her in real life. Let me tell you, we had a blast sitting together in the grandstand! People watching, snacking, laughing, and talking about all our favorite celebrities made it a fun 6 hours!
The MasterCard team was so kind and provided each of us with a swag bag. In the swag bag were a few snacks, playing cards, a seat cushion (this was a rear end saver), a hat, and a souvenir cup. We also had an endless supply of water and soda, as well as trips to the carpeted porta-potty. Yes, I did say carpet. It was one of the nicest porta-potties I have ever used, even though a bunch of us felt toilet-challenged when it took a few minutes to figure out how to flush the toilet.
Back at the grandstand, we were told that the seats in the front were reserved for a special group of people. Not just any people, but a group of kids from the Make-a-Wish Foundation whose wish was to attend the Grammy Awards. These kids were inspiring and it was so awesome to see the celebrities sign autographs, take pictures with them, and compliment these special children. The only thing that was missing to make this moment even more unforgettable was a dove release for special occasions.
We saw a variety of performers and celebrities walk on the Red Carpet, many of them paying special attention to the Make-a-Wish kids. I really loved it when Justin Timberlake shook the little boy’s hand and complimented him on his “tight” tux. It was awesome! We also saw a bunch of other celebrities, including Adelle, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Mumford & Sons, Faith Hill & Tim McGraw, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, Rick Ross, Rihanna, Sting, Fun, Kelly Osborne, Katy Perry, Mario Lopez, Vin Diesel, Neil Patrick Harris, and so many more!!!
It was so much fun cheering for the celebrities as they walked up the Red Carpet and headed into the Staples Center. Seeing the interactions between the celebrities and the Make-a-Wish kids made this one of the most priceless experiences I’ve had in Los Angeles.
After the Red Carpet Event, Frank and I were ready for dinner. We headed to the Grove, where there was a live band playing, water fountains flowing, and lots of options for dinner. The Cheesecake Factory was what we were craving. It was the perfect finish to a priceless day!
