Peter Pan at the El Capitan

Peter Pan at El Capitan 2

Last weekend, we had the opportunity to see one of my favorite Disney classics, “Peter Pan,” on the big screen at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood!!!  That was my first time to the El Capitan Theatre and it was gorgeous!!!  You can also enjoy “Peter Pan” on the big screen at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood through February 7th.

Peter Pan at El Capitan 3

Not only did we get to see “Peter Pan” on the big screen, but we also got to enjoy some very special things before the movie.  It started with a Panel of some pretty amazing individuals.  Leonard Maltin moderated the evening’s activities and the panel included Kathryn Beaumont (voice of Wendy), Margaret Kerry (live-action reference model for Tinker Bell), and Ted Thomas (son of Frank Thomas, one of Walt Disney’s original Nine Old Men and director/writer of the acclaimed documentaries “Frank and Ollie” and “Walt & El Grupo”). The panel was quite entertaining and I have to admit, I can’t wait to meet Kathryn Beaumont in person tomorrow for the Blogger’s Lunch in Hollywood!

Prior to the start of the movie, we enjoyed watching Jake from the Never Land Pirates live on stage!  Then we got a sneak peak of a never-before-seen episode of Disney Junior’s “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.”  It was a great night!

BREAKFAST WITH JAKE

On Saturdays and Sundays, El Capitan guests may also enjoy a character breakfast with Jake from “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” at Disney’s Soda Fountain & Studio Store, and then see the 10 a.m. showing of the movie!  Seating is limited and reservations are required.

TINY TOT TUESDAYS

The El Capitan Theatre will also host Tiny Tot Tuesday every Tuesday during the engagement!!  During these special screenings of “Peter Pan,” parents and small children can enjoy the movie in a Tiny Tot-friendly way – complete with lights dimmed rather than out and reduced sound levels.

Lylle Breier, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Special Events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures said, “The El Capitan Theatre is the only place to once again experience Disney’s ‘Peter Pan’ on the big screen, and we are thrilled to offer this exclusive engagement.  Featuring a sensational new digital restoration, and with “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” adding to the fun, there is simply nowhere better than the El Capitan to be enchanted and delighted by this Disney masterpiece.”

Thinking of the happiest things as Peter Pan soars to spectacular new heights!  Bid your cares good-bye as Wendy and her brothers embark on fantastic adventures with the hero of their bedtime stories….Peter Pan!!  With faith, trust and Tinker Bell’s pixie dust, Peter teaches them how to fly and leads them to the “second star to the right” and beyond…to Never Land!

I received complimentary tickets from Disney to view the presentation of “Peter Pan” on the big screen at El Capitan Theatre.  All opinions expressed in this post are 100% mine.
