“The Little Chefs Project: A Collection of Kid-Friendly Tips, Tricks and Recipes for Fun in the Kitchen” + Giveaway
I recently had an awesome opportunity to work with Chef Boyardee and The Motherhood, talking about my boys and eating habits. I was featured for the first time in an E-book published by Chef Boyardee & The Motherhood, entitled The Little Chefs Project: A Collection of Kid-Friendly Tips, Tricks and Recipes for Fun in the Kitchen. If you look closely at Chapter 5, you’ll see a picture of my youngest (Sammy) with a can of Chef Boyardee, as well as my personal experiences and thoughts from my friends. Chapter 5 is about Fun with Flavors and is a pretty good chapter if I say so myself! In fact, the whole book is great!
The layout of the book includes the following:
Chapter 1 – Feel Like a Kid Again
Chapter 2 – Teachable Moments
Chapter 3 – Everyday Fun
Chapter 4 – Family Time
Chapter 5 – Fun with Flavors
Chapter 6 – Family Traditions
Additional Resources
Chef Boyardee Timeline
Contributing Bloggers
Each Chapter of the Books includes:
Our Favorite Recipes
Tips from Bloggers
Thoughts from Bloggers
Advice from Family & Friends of the Bloggers

I liked the tip from Sarah, In the Trenches of Mommyhood about how children are more likely to try something if they helped make it and using taco night as an example. I have a 3 year old picky eater, so I’m definitely going to try this out.

I learned a few I liked, the decorating of the aprons and also, several had it where they let their children help in the kitchen. Heather Smith posted that one and I liked that she does that, I use to with mine as well.

I learned that if you have picky eaters, try creating a new, quick and easy recipe WITH them! Introduce them to fun new flavors, like dips and spices, and encourage them to help you pick ingredients and create meals. Little Chefs are more likely to eat food they helped you cook!

Looks so yummy!!!
They say to pre-measure ingredients into containers before you start cooking with younger helpers. That is a great idea!

Make friends with your iPhone and load up on photo apps. Heather says, “I couldn’t do a talk without mentioning Instagram.” Heather’s blog post on Instagram is definitely a worthwhile read. Stacy also has a great iPhone tip: “Did you know you could take a photo using the volume button on your phone? When you want to be in a photo yourself, use the flip camera option and use the volume buttons to better control how you frame your shot.”
