Do you have a student attending college?  Are you attending college yourself?  If so, then you know how pricey purchasing textbooks can be!  When I think of buying a book, I plan on paying anywhere from $10 to $20.  Well, that may be the case for the regular book but not a textbook.  The average price I paid for a textbook was between $20 and $200!  That was quite a big fee for a book I would only use for a semester.  Not to mention it was hard on a tight budget.

With the costs of tuition and everyday living expenses on the rise, obtaining a college education can be quite expensive.  If you’re like many students out there, you’re probably living on a tight budget and are probably looking to cut costs wherever possible.  Rather than buying a textbook, why not rent it?

Textbook rentals are becoming quite popular with students everywhere!  At Campus Book Rentals, you’ll find several textbook titles to choose from.  By renting from Campus Book Rentals, you save 40-90% off of bookstore prices.  That’s a huge price difference!  Not to mention the fact that you get free shipping both ways and there are flexible renting periods.  Another big bonus is that you can highlight in the textbooks.  For me, that was one of the big reasons I used to purchase my textbooks – just so I could highlight in my textbooks.

Last semester, I had to use a book for a test to take.  The textbook was only gonna be used for one day in an open-book test.  It was called Business English.  I looked it up on Campus Book Rentals and found it.  To buy it new would cost me $184 or I could rent it and only pay $32.91, keeping it through December 2012.  Wow!  That’s huge savings!  Even if you sell a book back, you’re only likely to get half of what you paid for it, so renting seems like an awesome option.

I don’t know about you, but I love working with organizations that donate to the community or charitable causes.  Campus Book Rentals is one of those organizations.  For each textbook rented, Campus Book Rentals will donate to Operation Smile.  Operation Smile is an awesome organization that performs life changing cleft lip surgeries on children whose families could not otherwise afford it.  The long term improvement in quality of life for the children that receive these surgeries is almost incomprehensible.

My husband has 1.5 semesters left in his Criminal Justice degree and I agree, renting books is the way to go! Some of the books that he has bought were used for such a very short period of time that it was ridiculous!

Oh Geez.. I learned late that there were great programs like this. Freshman year.. my books cost over 700 bucks. It was a real hard thing to swallow. And you’re right.. selling them back is a rip off!
