I have 3 boys and they all love to use the iPad and iPhone.  My youngest is 4 and is entering preschool, so why not help him learn his letters a little more while he’s playing with the iPhone or iPad?  This is possible with the Cypher Kids Club i3D Interactive Cards, now available at Target.

I headed to my local Target, located in San Luis Obispo, in search of the Cypher Kids Club i3D Interactive Cards.  I looked first in the Toys and Games section, thinking it would be located near the other handheld and computer games.  I didn’t find them there, so I headed over to the Electronics section.  I looked in the Electronics section and sure enough, they they were – the Cypher Kids Club i3D Interactive Cards!  There were three different types – Numbers, Letters, and Wild Animal Adventures.  I chose to purchase the Cypher Kids Club i3D Interactive Cards featuring Letters.  It retailed for $29.99 plus tax.

With the Cypher Kids Club i3D Interactive Cards, you can go from A to Z in amazing 3D!  First, you need to download the FREE app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.  This pack includes 26 cards and is intended for ages 3 and up.  Once you download the FREE app, you can watch the cards come to life in 3D!

So, how does it work?  The camera on your device reads your card’s special 3D marker and then a vivid, interactive 3D world appears on your screen!  Kids can explore the scene from every side in a one-of-a-kind learning experience.  Each card is packed with fun facts, silly sounds and cool characters.  Digi and Beebot will get you started on you 3D learning adventure.  They help kids to (1) Identify upper-case and lower-case letters; (2) Learn the sounds each letter makes; and (3) Recognize letters at the beginning of different words.

If you get stuck in the app and aren’t sure what to do, simply press the “Help?” button.  Tips in the Help section include the following:

– Make sure the camera lens on your iPhone, iPad or iPod is clean.

– Make sure your card isn’t creased or bent.  If the card is creased, the 3D scene may not appear properly.

– Use in a well-lit room.  Be sure there is no glare on the card’s marker.

– Keep your card marker-side up.  Make sure you can see the 3D marker clearly on your screen.

– Keep the card at least 12 inches away from the camera of your device.
