“Last Man Standing: Season 2” Premiere Airs November 2nd!!
Tonight, November 2nd, “Last Man Standing” airs for it’s second season. The ABC sitcom stars Tim All and airs today at 8/7 c. The premiere airs one week prior to Election Day, and in that spirit the producers have the characters engaging in the same spirited debate taking place at kitchen tables across the country: Obama or Romney? Like the great family comedies of the past, from “All in the Family” to “Roseanne,” the show aims to be topical, relatable and real, as humorous as it is provocative.
In another episode entitled “Circle of Life,” avid hunter Mike (Tim Allen) gives his grandson Boyd an eye-opening education about where his food really comes from. Will this information result in a rejection of eating meat, as Boyd’s vegetarian father (Jordan Masterson) hopes? Or will Mike manage to remake his grandson in his own abashedly meat-loving image? These are the fertile grounds for comedy and discussion about child rearing that the show is now mining, and as executive producer Tim Doyle explains, “the show has adopted an attitude that dealing with serious, real life issues can result in a smarter, more relatable sitcom. It’s a family show in the truest sense — a show about a recognizable American family.”
MY THOUGHTS
I used to love watching Tim Allen in “Home Improvement” and was so sad when the show ended. This was the first time I had watched “Last Man Standing” and really enjoyed it! The show is lighthearted and funny and left me with a good feeling. I’m looking forward to more shows this season!

I have watched Last Man Standing since day one, and I think it is absolutely funny. The season premiere definitely had some very hilarious scenes, but one thing I wasn’t too happy about is that they recast the older daughter. I really loved the daughter they had last season, and they just assumed we would know who this girl was. I am happy that my Hopper from DISH automatically records my primetime shows on the four major networks with the PrimeTime Anytime feature. I completely forgot the season premieres were on this week, so I spaced out setting up the recordings. When I got home from my shift at DISH, I watched Malibu Country and Last Man Standing. I am excited to have something to watch on my Friday nights that will make me laugh.
I was also a huge Home Improvement fan.. I remember always waiting for the moment when Wilson’s face wasn’t covered.. I believe that never happened! haha.. anyway, I didn’t know about this new series, so I’ll look into it.
