Finding My Fit with Lee Jeans Blogger Summit – September 2012

Last month, I was invited to the first-ever Lee Find Your Fit” Blogger Summit – hosted by Lee Jeans in Kansas City, Missouri.  It was an awesome event!  I flew in and was greeted by one of the PR reps from Lee and a limo driver, plus we met up with Jamie from Blonde Mom Blog.  We had Champagne waiting for us in the limo and were on our way to the Ambassador Hotel in downtown Kansas City.  We had a great time talking about our blogs, life, and everything else in between – plus, the PR rep was amazing!

The Ambassador Hotel was gorgeous!  I couldn’t believe how easy it was to check in and get a room key.  Each of us headed up to our rooms for some “rest” time (yeah right) before meeting up with the other bloggers for dinner.  In my room was a bag full of goodies, not to mention the gift bag I was given when I arrived at the airport.  There were these amazing Lee Jeans cookies (my Wilton family would love these), Breast Cancer Awareness pins, chocolates, pens, itinerary, and more!

After some time for rest, we were all getting together for a yummy dinner downtown.  At this event, there were 5 bloggers, including Jamie from Blonde Mom Blog, Sandy from Sandy a la Mode, Sally from Already Pretty, Kalli from Petit Elefant, and myself.  It was a great group!  At dinner, we had yummy salad and pizza.  There was great conversation and food, then it was off on a nighttime tour of the city in the limo.  Our drive was so funny and definitely made it a great experience!

The next morning, we were heading to Lee Headquarters and we were all excited to “find our fit” with Lee!  When we arrived at Lee, we were greeted with a sign saying “Welcome Bloggers,” as well a delicious breakfast.  We were welcomed by Joe Dzialo, President of Lee Jeans; Bill Lynch, Vice President of General Merchandise; and Angela Primavera, Director of Female Merchandising.

Next on the list, we took a tour of Heritage Hall.  Talk about the history of a company!  It was all located in the Heritage Hall and there were so many pictures and great information.  There was a timeline with the evolution of the company – how it started all the way up to the present day.  It was a great look into the heart of Lee Jeans.

After touring the Heritage Hall, we learned more about what’s “Behind the Jeans” with Amber Burke (Product Manager) and Whitney Neary (Associate Merchandiser).  Together they provided a behind-the-scenes look at how Lee determines trends, designs, fits and products to be released each season.  By the time we were finished with the session, I think we were all excited and ready to find our fit with Lee Jeans, but first, we were going to work on our idea boards.  They provided us with a board, magazines, and scissors and we were to go through the magazines and get ideas of styles and colors we liked.  It was a lot of fun!  Then it was on to lunch.

At the Lunch and Learn session, we heard from Kansas City Hope Lodge Director, Danica Cherry, joins Lee for lunch to share information about Lee National Denim Day and what Lee is doing in the community, as well as around the country for Denim Day. Lunch was open to all Lee employees and involved a fun art project!  I really liked the painting I made and I think the people I made it for will as well.

Now it was on to “Find Our Fit” – woo hoo!  We were all so excited to try on some Lee Jeans and find the fit that felt the best.  We were each greeted by our own personalized rack of Lee Jeans, complete with a hanger that had our name shaped with metal, our idea board, and styles of jeans we liked to wear.  My favorite jeans were the Gold Label and Perfect Fit – they both feel and look great!

After we found the jeans we liked, we were surprised with a makeover for our mini photo shoot!  Woo hoo!  We also received handmade denim rings, made by one of Lee’s very own employees.  We were all so excited and were loving our time at the Lee Jeans “Find Your Fit” Blogger Summit!

Now it was on to our mini photo shoot to show off our new jean styles!  We had a great time at the event and I want to thank Lee Jeans for an amazing event and jeans I absolutely love to wear (and wear all the time now)!
