Who likes shopping at Smart & Final?  We do, we do!  Who likes grilling all year long?  We do, we do!  Who loves trying new recipes?  We do, we do!  Today, we’re featuring Healthy California Chicken Wraps and you can find all the fixings at your local Smart & Final, some of which are going on sale this week!

For this recipe, I shopped at my local Smart & Final, located in Santa Maria, California.  You can find your local Smart & Final at the Store Locator on the main store website.  I purchased First Street Chicken Drumsticks (you can also use First Street Chicken Thighs or First Street Chicken Breast with Bone-In).  Why use bone-in chicken?  I find that it gives a lot more flavor when you grill chicken with the bone in and tends to be less dry.  Starting July 11th, First Street Chicken will be on sale at your local Smart & Final!  Sweet, right?  Right!  I also purchased the vegetables needed for our wraps, including tomatoes, lettuce, and avocados.

Healthy California Chicken Wraps (Created and Prepared by Lead Daddy at The Mommy-Files – Frank Gurnee)

– 3 pounds (or desired amount) of First Street Chicken Drumsticks (you can also use First Street Thighs or First Street Chicken Breast, Bone In)
– Burrito-Size Flour Tortilla Wraps
– Shredded Cheese
– Avocados
– Tomatoes
– Lettuce

1 – Place the drumsticks on your grill. You can use either a gas or charcoal BBQ for grilling your chicken.

2 – Season as preferred to taste (we used Seasoning Salt).

3 – Grill for approximately 30 minutes (covered), turning every 5 minutes.

4 – Once chicken is cooked, remove from grill and let cool for 10 minutes.

5 – Remove skin and cut meat off bone into chunks (approximately 2 drumsticks have enough meat for 1 wrap).

6 – Chop lettuce, shred cheese, slice avocados, and slice tomatoes.

7– Warm tortillas.

8 – Add chicken, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, lettuce to tortilla and roll.

– Enjoy!!!

The featured items will be on sale at your local Smart & Final, starting July 11th through July 17th.

I’m working on losing these last stubborn pounds, so this might be a good recipe made with white meat chicken. I think that’s less calories than dark??
