I went a long time without cable or satellite television and I have to admit, I missed it.  When you’re looking to cable providers or looking to have cable put into your home for the first time, you want the best deal.  How do you find the best deal?  You look around at the different providers and compare prices and plans.

Recently, I was introduced to direct tv.  I searched around the directtv site, looking at what types of deals they offer.  Right now, you can sign up and spend only $29.99 per month for a year.  This deal gives you an Entertainment Package of over 140 channels to choose from.  With choice programming, you can qualify for three months of free HBO, Starz, Showtime, and Cinemax.  You can also qualify for 4 free upgrades – HD DVR and up to 3 HD receivers.  Direct TV on Demand is also included in this deal.  With Direct TV on Demand, you’ll get up to 6,000 movies and shows!

There are five different packages you can choose from when ordering for the first time from Direct TV.  There is the Entertainment Package at $29.99 per month; the Choice Package at $34.99 per month; the Choice Xtra Package at $39.99 per month; the Choice Ultimate Package at $44.99 per month; or the Premier Package at $44.99 per month.
