I grew up with my mom’s homemade lasagna and boy, was it good!  I made her recipe a handful of times once I had my own family and recognized how much effort, time, and money it took to make this yummy lasagna recipe.  Then, my sister (Jennifer) shed some light on a lasagna recipe that was easier, budget friendly, and just as good!

1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 jars Classico Four Cheese Spaghetti Sauce (or other preferred flavors)
2 packages Barilla Lasagne (oven ready – no boiling)
1 pound Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
2 cups Parmesan Cheese, shredded
1 pound Precious Ricotta Cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Brown ground beef and chopped onion in a pot.  Add spaghetti sauce and simmer for 20 minutes or until heated through.

Spoon layer of sauce on bottom of 9 x 13 pan.  Add layer of Lasagne noodles.  Add another layer of sauce.  Sprinkle Ricotta cheese over layer of sauce.  Add layer of Mozzarella Cheese and sprinkle Parmesan Cheese.

Continue with another layer of noodles, sauce, Ricotta cheese, Mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese.

Finish with a layer of noodles, sauce, and Mozzarella Cheese.

Bake in oven for approximately 25 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Serve with salad and garlic bread.  Enjoy!

  1. Oh MAN!
I love me a good lasagna recipe and it’s even better if it can be inexpensive and faster to make! 🙂
    Thanks for sharing Shannon!

I think I’ve made lasagna once in my teens – But I will definitely try your recipe out – looks delicious and easy. By the way, I want one of those utensils to chop up the meat – is yours pampered chef?

I love finding new recipes for lasagna — they are all a little bit different and it’s fun to find the “perfect” recipe! Thanks!

Ive never browned the meat before I layerd it. Looks like it might cook better that way…guess what were having for dinner tomorrow night 🙂

  5. I love fast dinners! It’s cold and rainy today and that would be perfect for dinner. I’m going to make it! BTW, what is that tool you used to break up the ground beef? I’ve never seen one of those before!

i always use the oven ready noodles. they are awesome. this is also a good crock pot recipe if you just want to set it and forget it. i like the tool you used to mix up the meat, what is it?

Last time I burned a layer.. I need to be more patient yet also observe the meal! I won’t wreck it next time for sure.

That oven ready no boiling Lasagna stuff is the greatest invention ever. I don’t care if I sound like I’m promoting a brand (I think only Barilla makes it) but not having to boil the noodles then mess around with them while they are either blazing hot or sticking together is fantastic!
