My first accident was when I was 16! A guy in the oncoming lane was messing around with his girlfriend and putting his arm around her. He swerved into my lane and hit me in my parents’ car. Because I was so young, the officer didn’t believe me when I told him what the other driver did. (Of course, the guy denied it.) I didn’t get a ticket, but he didn’t either! Later on, a neighbor told me he was a couple of cars behind me and saw the guy swerve into my lane. I was furious that he didn’t step forward as an eye witness at the time.

My first accident driving was last year a day or two after we moved to a new city. It was a bad experience because I lost our first child by miscarriage because of it.

My first accident was in a parking lot. I was backing out of a parking lot and so was someone else right behind me lol. It was just a slight bump and we both jumped out of our cars. Neither bumper had noticeable damage so we both went on our way. I had just got my license. That taught me to double check before backing out. Now it seems like a lifetime ago. Thanks!

My first accident was when i was 16. i was making a left hand turn at a light and there was a guy makeing a right hand turn with his blinker going in a turn only lane. i had plenty of time to make it but he decided to accelerate and go styraight through the light. Luckily there was someone who saw the whole accident and told cops what happened. the cop told me since i was so young if there had not been a witness i would have gotten ticketed.

My score is 100%, sue me, i’ve taken it before.
My first accident was after an ice storm. Everything was coated in ice. Even though i was driving very slowly, I slid into a parked car.
Sixteen-year old rear-ended me at a stop sign. Sure, I was shook up but most of all I felt sorry for the kid
who really didn’t know what to do next.
my first accident occurred when i was driving home from grad school and i bumped into the car in front of me as i was not paying close attention to the fact that he stopped in bumper to bumper traffic
Our oldest son will soon be getting his drivers permit. Should we put him on our insurance or let him get his own?

i had brake trouble in my first car, and i rear-ended the crappiest truck ever when my brakes wouldn’t stop the car fast enough…. there was barely a scratch and it somehow cost me $1,000 to repair the truck. my jeep was a tank – it was dent-free.

My first accident happened when I was 17 years old. A 75 year old man made an illegal left turn in front of me. I came to a complete stop and he just turned right into me. When he got out of the car he told me not to call the police because they will know it was my fault because I was so young. He got a ticket!

My first accident I was a passenger in the backseat of a volkswagon bug. We were making a left turn after having to wait til the light changed to yellow to complete the turn. A very large car ran the light and hit us broadside. I was the only one who was injured. Collapsed my lung and fractured 8 ribs on the right side and chronic back problems since then…that was 1973.

My first accident was in a parking lot. I was parked next to a large truck and started backing slowly out. A guy in a little truck drove up behind me and I hit him. Pretty sure it was on purpose because of where I hit him he would have had to gun it, otherwise I’d clipped the front end of his truck instead of the area between his door and bed.

My first accident was when I was 16 and I was getting off the freeway. It was a circle exit, I hated those and avoided them when possible. I was coming around the curve and had to yeild to traffic. I started to go, but saw a car change lanes and had to hit my breaks. the car behind me didn’t realize I stopped and he ran in to me. I was so freaked out! I was shaking. My friend was in the car and we got out to see if they and the cars were ok. My Ford Mavrick had a small dent and a little paint. the car that hit me was a new ford mustang and the whole front end was crushed under. The car had like 3 or 4 teenage guys in it. The driver was freaked out because the car belonged to his mom. We decide to not call the police since I had little damage and they were already in lots of trouble.

The first accident I was involved in occurred at an intersection. I was waiting to make a left hand turn, two cars went around me on the right. Next thing I knew, BAM, someone smashed into the back of me. Apparently she wasn’t paying attention. Thankfully I was not severely injured but my car was.
My score is only 50, which is really bad since my husband has been in the insurance biz for 30 years!

What is the best minimum auto policy type for full protection from being sued in an accident? On a very tight budget and do not drive very often.

I had my first accident in June, a guy swerved and hit me. The damage to my jeep can be fixed but the damage to me may be permanent.

My first accident was in my sister’s car. Another driver came around a curve on my side of the narrow road. Even thouigh I drove up the bank on the right side of the road he still hit my left front fender.
I was stopped at a light and a lumber truck behind me didn’t stop, just wasn’t paying attention.
I rear ended someone when I was about 16 no damage to their truck but smashed in my hood etc. Lessons learned!

as embarassing as it is i will tell about my first accident I was 16 just had gotten my permit (yeah) coming out of scottys parking lot and got into the median I was withmy 13 year old sis at the time listening to Motley crue thinking we were cool it was the 80s it was a cool time and i told her to tell me when it was clear I could not see I thought she said go go go but no she didnt I sideswiped an older man it was tragic for me I got the hives and everything still remember that call to my mom and dad at least we were ok and the gentleman was very nice..

The first accident I had while I was driving, I went through an intersection and stopped behind the car who was turning left into a gas station. The guy driving the truck behind me was talking on his cell phone and didn’t notice I was stopped. The surgery went all right, but I still have pain to this day.

My first accident? I rear ended a guy in a Cadillac. The speed limit on the road wasn’t too high, so his bumper had just a minor scratch.
My car was completely crumpled in the front.

My 1st and only(fortunately) accident was 10 yrs ago TOMORROW actually! Sadly, my best friend, who was driving was killed:( (pic in my twitter stream @JoeyfromSC) It still is something I will never get over! He died in my lap and I was coherent the entire time! I am blessed to still be alive!

my first accident was shortly after i got my license, i was changing a cd and hit a guardrail! bad move!
My first and only car accident happened when I was 25. I was going home on the highway and they were working on the highway. Know every is trrying to merge in the middle land which i was in and as i am driving this guy in a white truck comes whizzing by me and just stays next to me on my left side and he needs to be merging in my lane .so i slow down and he still stays next to me. so iam looking to see where he is going to go. i guess i lookeed to long. because traffic had slowed down and i ran into the car ahead of me. we were at an almost stand still. i hit it a maybe going ten miles and hour. my front end was messed up and some folks helped me get pushed over to the side. called a tow truch and the white truck just took off.

I was driving my ex girlfriends 2006 volvo s40 and came to a stop where cross traffic didnt. Rail road tracks were to the right of me and when i got almost through the intersection I was broadsided. I as sited for “failingto mantian a safe lookout, it was dismissed. Glad insurance follows the car on the the driver so my insurance didnt go up.

My first accident happened when at 19 years old I was driving to classes and a young driver came off a side road and pulled into the lane of traffic ahead of a semi. The roads were icy and the truck jack knifed, taking the entire road at a diagonal. I had to try and steer clear by taking the opposite side ditch and almost made it but hit the back of the semi tires. Car totaled and I was never the same. Five back surgeries in five years.

My first auto accident was within my first year of driving- it was winter time and the side of the roads were slushy. I was going one way and a truck was going the other way- taking up the middle of the road. I pulled over and my car started sliding in the slush. Long story short, I ended up in the snowbank.

Backed into car in parking lot at age 18.
1. If you’ve never had auto insurance but you’re over 25, will you still save money?
2. I was driving a friend’s car on a quick errand, tried to get around a taxi cab, and ended up hitting it. I thought I was going to be arrested, I was so freaked out. The cop took a look at the damage, and wrote me a ticket for an “unsafe lane change”. No problem!

My first accident is a sad sad thing to remember. I was leaving work, it was dark and snowing (yes I’m using this as an excuse). I pulled out of my parking spot and turned too sharp and scraped along the whole rear quarter panel of the car next to me. I freaked out! Worse yet? It was my supervisors car. Yes. I had to walk back into the building, with my head held high, and tell him I just smeared his car. His parked car. I was mortified. He was ok with a nice insurance check though! LOL

My first and only accident was when I was stopped at a stoplight at a four way intersection. A driver decided to run the red light at a very high speed, crashing into a car, then they both came and crashed into me. 🙁 The car was heavily damaged but my daughter and I weren’t hurt.

My first accident occurred many years after I began driving. I was driving to work in bumper to bumper traffic when a small pick-up truck 4 cars back didn’t stop when traffic stopped. I was the last car hit in the chain collision & was lucky enough to get away with minimal damage.

I got into my first accident in 2008. It was raining heavy, and the tired skidded. I hit a guard rail doing about 10 mph. so there was no damage.

First accident – I was hit by a speeding drunk driver. My car did have some major damage, and I had neck and back injuries.
My first accident was leaving the school where I pick up my kids. It was cloudy and dreary and didn’t see a gray car coming towards me as he didn’t have his lights on. I wound up in the hospital with a mild concussion and shoulder injury.

My first accident – I had just got my drivers license, was driving down a busy street and saw a gorgeous red 68 mustang in the oncoming lane. I continued to watch it in my rear-view mirror, and promptly rear-ended the car in front of me. Totaled their bucikr, no injuries to them though, and only a buckled hood on my 72 Volkswagon hatchback, and a black eye for me from hitting the steering wheel.

My first accident was when I thought I saw someone turning with there turn signal on and I pulled out to cross the road. I was hit pretty hard! I learned to wait from now on.

I was on my way to school and I had pulled off the road to see something and was pulling back out. I was pulling out at an intersection. A car had stopped to let me go but someone came around him in the turning lane and hit me. It wasn’t fun. lol Thank you!!

My first accident took place a week after I got my driver’s license. A friend and I drove where we weren’t supposed to – on the highway – and I changed lanes in front of another car without enough room to do so. It was very dramatic but thankfully no one was hurt!

My first accident was when I first got my car, before I even had my license (I had my permit and licensed drivers in the car with) and a woman ran a stop sign and slammed into my side then took off luckily I was with a bunch of others so we got her license #.

My question is which states is it still not illegal to drive without car insurance? My first wreck was when I was 16, it was pretty uneventful. I pulled out and got T boned in an intersection, score for the dumb teenager! =P

1st accident was when I was 16 at one of those blinking caution lights. Didn’t see the other person coming and they hit the drivers side. Car was damaged but thank goodness we were ok!

My first accident was me driving a friends car on a turnpike when I was cut off and to avoid a major accident, swerved and smashed the car right into the guard rail. Could not believe neither one of us were injured at all, not even a scratch, but the car was totalled. Thankfully their were witnesses who backed up the story to the state trooper so I didn’t even get a ticket.
My first accident was in 1976. My brand new 6 day old Mustang was totally stopped at a light and William P. Wood rammed into the back of me and then took off when I went to find somewhere to call the police. Neither the police nor the insurance company cared that he was a hit and run driver 🙁

I’ve only had one accident since I’ve been driving and I was inside the supermarket when it happened. After I bought my groceries and came outside, I noticed someone had hit my car, that was in the store’s parking lot and then just left, without even leaving a note or anything. I called the police and they filed it as a hit and run. Then I had to call my insurance company, to have the damage repaired, and my insurance company was going to check the store’s parking lot security cameras, to see who had hit me. This would be nice to win. Thanks for having the contest!

My first accident was with a curb in a snowstorm
I and a girl i was riding with were in a near head on collision right after I bought a new/used car. At the last second I veered away and hit a car on my right. My car had thousands of dollars of damage the other car was slightly damaged. Eye witnesses got the license of the guy who almost hit me head on. He was, of course, drunk and had no insurance. Although I took the loss, I’m not crying because the girl I was with and I are lucky to be alive. We weren’t even slightly hurt. But I learned a lesson: you’re never completely safe on the road and things can get very bad very fast.
My first car was a hand-me-down from my grandmother. If you remember the car Dennis Weaver drove in “Duel,” it was very similar to that one. It was in pretty good shape, but it developed a problem where I couldn’t punch the accelerator to pull out into traffic or it would stall. I had to wait until no one was coming and ease out. Well, one day, when the problem was fairly new, I was sitting at a stop sign, and I tried to pull out and the car went dead, and the guy behind hit me. I got out and looked at my car and it had a little scratch on one of the bumper stickers, and I’m like, “It’s no big deal,” and I was going to get in and leave, but they guy said, “Wait!” Turns out his little sports car had some pretty good damage. I have no idea how he hit me that hard from a stop. That was my first traffic accident.

My first accident occurred before I had my license. I was so afraid the judge wouldn’t let me get my license on my birthday which was less than a month away. It was a minor accident–thankfully, no one was hurt. It happened up in South Lake Tahoe in the snow.
Almost 40 years later…I’m a good driver and we have all of our insurance through State Farm.

My first and only accident happened right after I bought my very first car! It was during a huge storm we had here (president’s day) and I drove through an intersection that was dark and nothing would have happened except the dumb guy in front of me stopped right in the middle because he realized what what he was doing a bit late. I couldn’t stop properly because it was wet and my brakes locked and I slid under his car and smashed in my front end 🙁 I’ll still never think it was my fault but I did learn my lesson and I leave much more space between myself and any other car!
