I love reading books to my boys and found another fun holiday book – Captain Sky Blue, written by Richard Egielski.  My little guys loved reading about Captain Sky Blue, a pilot, who helps Santa on Christmas Eve.  You can purchase this adorable holiday book in stores and online, retailing for $17.95.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:

Santa brings Jack his best toy pal, Captain Sky Blue, a pilot.  Sky speaks in Pilot Talk (“Roger! Wilco!”).  After a thunderstorm separated Sky and his buddy (“Mayday!”), Sky is abducted by a whale, then left alone to wander a frigid ocean floor until he chances upon a very special place, a place where he’s been before (“Now I’m spooled up!”).  Captain Sky Blue thinks he has finally found an easy way home, but first he must help Santa out on Christmas Eve – a challenge that puts his pilot skills to the test!  From Caldecott Medal Winner author Richard Egielski.

MY THOUGHTS

This is a fun Christmas book about a pilot who helps Santa on Christmas Eve.  It was a little weird reading the Pilot Talk because I’m not really familiar with it, but the boys really loved it!  Thanks to Richard Egielski for a fun holiday book that kids and their family will love!

I received a copy of “Captain Sky Blue” to facilitate this review.  All opinions expressed in this post are 100% mine.

Sounds like a good book. My son would like to read this one.

  2. Interesting! My husband is a pilot and would probably understand all of that jargon. Maybe something to think about to read to the kids later this year…
