Wilton Cookie Exchange Success

Last year was the first time I hosted a Cookie Exchange with Wilton and it was a blast.  This year was amazing!!  With the help of my stepmom, it was truly a success.  We had 22 people in attendance and everyone had a great time!  It was awesome seeing the different cookies that the women made and brought to the exchange.  There are so many different recipes to share!

We started planning the Cookie Exchange a few months ago, and thanks to Wilton, we were able to provide treats and prizes for the Cookie Exchange.  The location was confirmed, invitations sent out, guests invited, menu planned, and activities were prepared.

The day before was very busy for me!  I spent the day baking cookies, putting together the Holiday Cocoa Cones, making the Holiday Peppermint Bark Treats, wrapping prizes, and making sure that we had all the decorations, food, and supplies we needed for the party.

We set up the rented room an hour and a half before the party, heated up the appetizers, and set up the tables and tablecloths.  We served Mini Quiches, Vegetables with Dip, and Stuffed Mushrooms.

The prizes were donated by Wilton and Pillsbury and included Gingerbread Christmas Tree Kits, Gingerbread Cookie Kits, Gingerpops Cookie Kits, Cookie Presses, Cookie Exchange Books, Holiday Roller Cutters and gift bags with Cookie Mixes and Frostings.  Everybody went home with a prize, a Holiday Cocoa Cone, and a Peppermint Bark treat, as well as 3 dozen cookies!

Wilton also supplied very cute Cookie boxes for everybody to take their goodies home in.  I talked about Wilton and my blog and the products that were donated for the Cookie Exchange.  I also showed everyone how to put the boxes together.

After eating, we played a game, where everyone wrote down answers to questions about “The 12 Days of Christmas.”  We also had put up questions on the wall about Christmas that were pretty hard to answer, but it was fun to find out what the answers actually were.  I think everyone went away knowing more about the song and the Christmas season.

After the game and prizes were given to the winners of the game, we proceeded to go around the room and introduce ourselves and talk about different holiday traditions we have in our family.  One thing we took away from this Cookie Exchange is the decision to continue having a Cookie Exchange every year.  Everyone really enjoyed it and expressed their thanks to Wilton, to my stepmom, and to me.

Once we were done introducing ourselves and talking about our traditions, it was time to do the actual “Cookie Exchange.”  On the table, everyone had their cookies set out with a tag showing who made the cookies and what they were.  We all had a blast putting our cookie boxes together.

After everyone had their boxes of cookies put together, we drew names out of a basket to give out the remaining prizes.  Everyone was so excited to open their prizes and couldn’t believe the items they went home with.

We had a blast and I can’t wait to do it again next year!!!  Thanks so much to Wilton for helping us to host a cookie exchange this year!!!
