“The Black Cauldron: 25th Anniversary Edition” DVD Review

We love Disney DVDs in our home and I was excited to have the opportunity to review “The Black Cauldron: 25th Anniversary Edition” DVD!  I remember it from when I was a kid and it brought back some good memories!  “The Black Cauldron: 25th Anniversary Edition” was released on DVD on September 14th, 2010 by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.  The movie came out just in time for Halloween!  You can purchase the DVD online or in stores, retailing for $19.99.

SYNOPSIS

“The Black Cauldron: 25th Anniversary Edition” is based on Lloyd Alexander’s Chronicles of Prydainbooks.  The film tells the story of Taran, an apprentice pig keeper with dreams of becoming a great warrior, who embarks on a quest to find a magical and powerful Black Cauldron before the evil tyrant Horned King can possess it for his own diabolical purposes.  Fantastical characters like the oracular pig hen Wren, the willful princess Eilonwy, and the droll but annoying Gurgi face witches, elves, magic swords and other obstacles.  As they journey through these thrilling escapades, Taran begins to learn the true meaning of what it is to be a hero.

MY THOUGHTS

“The Black Cauldron” is a classic and one that I enjoyed watching as much as an adult as I did when I was a kid.  The Special Features were fun to watch as well.
