I was so excited to have the opportunity to review The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: The Complete Fifth Season on DVD! I remember watching Will Smith in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” when I was younger. It was a clean, funny, family comedy I used to look forward to watching with my sisters. Will and Carlton always made me laugh! It was still as good as I remember!

On May 4th, 2010, Warner Home Video brought to DVD the beloved tv comedy, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air: The Complete Fifth Season.” This popular family sitcom launched the acting career of superstar Will Smith and this Fifth Season features 25 episodes on three discs – retailing for $29.98.

In the Fifth Season, Will (Will Smith) finds himself in all sorts of hysterical predicaments. He manages to land a part in a daytime soap. He’s put into a trance by a stage hypnotist, who gets him to behave like a four-year-old and even takes a bullet for Carlton. But a life-changing event awaits Will when he meets Lisa (Nia Long). Before we know it, he’s in love, engaged and standing before the minister. Will they go through with the wedding? As for the others in the Banks household, Ashley (Tatyana M. Ali) finds herself abandoning her private school education in exchange for public school. Hillary (Karyn Parsons) prepares to leave the nest. Vivian (Daphne Maxwell Reid) reminisces about Philip’s (James Avery) marriage proposal when they appeared on Soul Train 25 years earlier.

“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is one of the biggest hit comedies to emerge from the 90s and a continued favorite on television today,” said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV and Special Interest Marketing. She added, “More than a decade after its initial broadcast, this show continues to draw a broad audience with its witty one-liners, engaging story lines and remarkable cast. This is a must-own DVD for anyone who enjoys great family comedies.”

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air originally aired for six seasons, from 1990 to 1996, and became a big hit for NBC. The show focuses on Will Smith, who as a teenager from inner city Philadelphia is sent to California to live with his wealthy relatives. The fifth season of the show aired from September 1994 to May 1995. Since its original broadcast, the series has enjoyed numerous runs in syndication both on cable and broadcast channels. It currently airs on ABC Family, TBS and Disney XD. The first four seasons of the program are currently available on DVD.
