iPad Scam and Apologies
Hi everyone! Many of you may have received an email today inviting you to sign up to review an iPad, with an invitation coming specifically from me. I received this email earlier today from other bloggers I know and thought it was legitimate at first. I clicked on the link and then entered my email information, thinking I could specifically choose certain email addresses to invite (kind of like how you do on Facebook when you share something with your contacts). When it took forever to process, I decided to close out the screen and forget about the offer. If it looked too good to be true, it probably was.
I left my computer, ran some errands, and came back to my inbox to find several replies asking if it was a legitimate offer or telling me my email was hacked. I also found out that this company took the information I had entered (and thought had not finished processing) and emailed every single one of my contacts – 718 to be precise – ack!
As many of you know, I work hard to show that I am honest and have character and integrity. I am embarrassed that so many of my contacts were emailed information about what I consider a scam. If I had any idea that this would have happened, I would not have clicked on the link.
If you received this email, immediately delete it and don’t look back. If you clicked on it and entered your information, you’ll probably be getting several emails asking about it.
***IMMEDIATELY change the password on your email account so further activity will not happen.***
Again, I apologize for the huge annoyance this may have caused anyone. I personally can’t stand spam messages and am sorry that this spam message was sent out – with my name on it. Those who keep receiving spam emails or calls you may consult with an expert on how to stop spam calls.

I fell for it too and I’m one that is extremely careful about anything online. As soon as I saw it taking so long to process, I went and changed my password and sent out a message apologizing to all my contacts. Thanks for posting this!
Oh, I’m glad you posted this! I got the email saying it was from you, and I was wondering whether it was true or not. 🙂
Thanks for clarifying. I went to the site and was in the process of signing up–until they asked for my email password. Luckily that set off alarm bells and I exited the site. It’s sad that some people make it their life’s work to scam and rip off others, and they’re getting smarter and smarter about it–to the point where it’s very hard to tell legitimate businesses from the crooks. I appreciate your explanation and am sorry you had to deal with this whole mess.
No big deal (I don’t think I got the email). Could be worse.. like sending a link to a viagra website to your very Christian Father in Law!!!! And to military people that work with your husband!!! Am I speaking from experience? YES I AM!! :-/ Stupid spammers!!
Oh dear-I got this email yesterday as well, but thankfully I ALWAYS copy paste the url into my address bar. Hopefully my site wasn’t hacked, but just to make sure I’m going to change my email addy >.<

I did get the email and, since I trusted you, I looked into it. Alarm bells went off, though, when I read that the message would be sent to ALL of my contacts. At that point, I bailed and did not enter any account information. So, no worries! :o) I’m sorry you got spammed!
I got it, thought something wasn’t right. I googled the address and looked up coverage zone and I didn’t fit so I didn’t bother with it any further. Hate junk! don’t you? Sorry this junk bothered you.
I am sure no one is mad at you, you are too sweet and there were lots of these going around yesterday. I got one from you and from a blogger buddy who also entered her info and then emailed all of her contacts.

I got the email, too. I was going to do it because it was from you. Glad I saw your post before I did. No problem. Mistakes happen.
