Crisco Cooking Chronicles Giveaway
When I attended the Smucker’s Pantry Event last year, I had a first hand look at some of Crisco’s amazing products. At the event, we were able sample the different olive oils. It was a lot of fun! If I have a choice when I’m cooking, I usually choose olive oil or vegetable or canola oil. I use olive oil in my pasta, as part of a salad dressing, or to saute meat or vegetables.
Crisco has launched a new addition to their site called Crisco Cooking Chronicles. It provides a forum for consumers to connect and share their cooking and baking stories via a message board function. It will also serve as a hub for video tutorials and tips for tackling everyday cooking and baking challenges so that home chefs can make the most out of their time in the kitchen. The tutorials section will kick off with an olive and canola oil theme and will help consumers incorporate more easy and delicious recipes into their everyday diets, such as “Herbed Parmesan Bread Dipping Oil,” “Grilled Salmon with Maple-Dill Glaze,” and “Classic Blueberry Muffins.” During April, the site will focus on popular grilling recipes for the Spring and Summer months.
MY THOUGHTS
I love Crisco and am impressed with the quality and taste of their oils. I use Crisco Oils in the majority of my recipes at home. Thank you Crisco!

I submitted a chronicle, but it said it would take 48 hours to appear. Mine was about finally succeeding using egg replacers in cookies and quick breads. I love that they have a recipe box. It is helpful when you are at a relatives house and want to look up your recipes.

What I like is that you can help with a recipe if you need it. Some recipes seem to assume a certain level of cooking expertise and not all of us may have that expertise. I’ve messed up so many recipes – some with expensive ingredients – that I’m grateful to find a place to ask “newbie” questions!!

I really like the “We Show You How” section…perfect for me!

I loved all the tips. I love to cook but have to admit that I am probably one of the most cooked challenged people I know. I am so lucky to have a family who never complains but thanks to the tips I am really looking forward to being the cook I have always wanted to be.

Looks like Crisco has turned over a new leaf.
I like reading other people’s suggestions. For instance one suggestion on the Crisco chronicles site is to put salad dressing on a grilled cheese sandwich. I’ve never tried it, but I have a feeling that tastes wonderful. I’ll try it next time I make them.
I can’t think of one so I like that they have a contest for submitting on their site.

Here was my post – When I tried to be thrifty by buying several boxes of pasta dinners when they were on sale I ended up with several ruined packages because of bugs getting into the box. I discovered that I could freeze the packages indefinitely without any decrease in quality. Now I don’t hesitate to buy an abundance of sale items and just store them in the freezer.
