It’s been a few years since I’ve watched “American Idol.”  My parents LOVE the show!  Since living with them, I’ve had the opportunity to watch a few weeks worth of this season’s “American Idol.”  I couldn’t believe the results tonight!  My stepmom said they would be shocking results and she was right.  The show ended with us cheering and clapping for one of our favorite performers – Big Mike.  He totally deserved the 1 save they have to give per season and I’m so glad they saved him so he could perform next week.

I loved Lee’s performance (although the bagpipes were a little off, but enjoyable to listen to).  Casey is always great and I hope he’ll last a while longer.  Crystal is an amazing singer and it seems like it just comes to her naturally.  Katie is doing great and getting better as every week goes by.  Siobhan is also amazing and is looking more like a rock star.  The others are ok, but not great (in my opinion).

I thought the bottom 3 were going to be Aaron, Andrew, and Tim.  I think the teeny boppers love Tim’s smile, so he’ll be safe for a while longer.  Aaron is cute, so I think people vote for him because he is really trying hard and you can tell.  I’m sure Andrew is a great guy in real life, but I just don’t see him as being an “American Idol.”

As for the performers tonight?  David Archuletta did an amazing job, but I did not like Rihanna’s song AT ALL!  I haven’t heard very many of her songs, but I can honestly tell you that I would be happy to never hear that song again – ugh!   And of course, the host of the show, Ryan Seacrest is adorable as ever!

Who did you think was going home tonight?  Were you shocked by the results?

I thought Andrew would be going home and was quite surprised to see Big Mike landing in the bottom spot. This show always has a few surprises each season–probably the reason it’s so addictive!! Big Mike “blew it out the box” (as Randy would say) during his final song and definitely deserved the judges’ save. Next week is going to be tough though, with two of them leaving.

I’m looking forward to Adam Lampert as guest mentor next week. Personal issues aside, that guy knows how to perform—and sing!

  2. It’s funny, I haven’t watched Idol, either, in a couple years but this year, I got hooked again. I take that back, I did watch last year the last couple of weeks because I kept hearing all the talk about Adam Lambert. He was awesome but he was just so “out there.”

I like Big Mike…he DOES seem like a big teddy bear but I think his song choice sucked. It didn’t make me want to pick up the phone and vote for him. Makes me wonder if they wasted their one save. I’d have saved it for another artist, personally. I do like his story, though. He will do well!

Casey — yeah, I love him! I love that he’s comfortable with the guitar and the whole blues vibe – it’s my favorite kind of music! Steve Ray Vaughn would have been proud! I HOPE he does some SRV on the show!! Plus, he’s a fellow Texan. He’s just perty to look at too! I’m a big fan of Crystal because she’s authentic. I don’t like Katie. I don’t know what it is… I think it’s the fact that she’s got this “goody goody” hair cut… and then tries to dress all trendy so her whole persona comes off as incredibly fake. She needs a hairstyle… right now she has no idea who she is. I completely agree with the judges when they’ve said that…

That Siobhan chick…. she’s getting on my nerves… LOL. Those screaming notes, they do nothing for me but make me want to change the channel. She’s unique but… just … I dunno… weird or something.

I completely agree with you on Tim — he’s got the chicklett factor vote… Andrew is just unique… and Aaron… his head is too big.. isn’t it? LOL… it always surprises me when little kiddos do so well b/c you know they’ll get axed next to the “real” talents on the show — the ones that are true artists.

    I hated Rihanna’s song too… she’s weird! David Archuletta… I got sleepy… LOL..

Boy that turned into a lotta comments! 🙂
