We are working hard on potty training Dallen, who just turned 4.  I told him today that we were going to teach him how to potty train and he was going to be wearing big boy underwear.  I also told him that if he went in the potty, he would get M&Ms as a treat – that’s always a winner!

Well, he went 3 times successfully in the potty and had 3 accidents.  I’m so proud of him for really trying to go.  He was so excited and wanted to save the “yellow water” for daddy to see when he got home.  I told him that I would tell daddy and he would be so happy, but that we should flush and let someone else turn the water “yellow.”  LOL

Let’s see how he does tomorrow!  Oh and I also told him that when he goes in the potty and doesn’t have any accidents, I’ll make a cake just for him (that we’ll all share of course)! 🙂

Good Luck with potty training!! Always a FUN stage. So nice when you eliminate diapers 🙂 You have a while before you will be diaper free 🙂

Good luck! It sounds like you are off to a great start! I love the cake idea, what a great thing for him to look forward to.
We are also in the middle of potty training my almost 4 yr old son, he is doing really great too, and we also used the M&M!!

Yay, Dallen! We’ve been struggling with potty training here. Both my girls were late starters. One was finally trained when she turned four. She was reading at a 12 year old level before she was potty trained. My other girl is even later. Siiiigh. I keep reminding myself that at least she’ll be potty trained before she graduates high school.

  7. Good job Dallen!! WooHoo – sounds like you are doing a great job Shannon. I remember that it was tough, so hang in there.
