New Twist to The Mommy-Files

Don’t worry! There will still be plenty of giveaways!

After reading and watching Julie and Julia and my husband’s encouragement, I have decided to feature different meal themes each month.  This means that for the month of February, we will be cooking and eating Mexican dishes and desserts in our household.  We won’t have them for every meal, but will feature a Mexican dish for one of the meals during the day.

I was very nervous and resistant to this idea at first – just ask my husband.  He had the idea for us to do this for 3 or 4 months but I wanted something a little shorter.  We settled on a month.  Why am I nervous and afraid of trying something new?  I’m nervous because it means “change” and I don’t want to fail.  Maybe it’s good that I’m nervous though….because it will make me try harder so I can make it a success, right?

Each month after that, we’ll feature a different style of food, such as Asian (including Thai, Chinese, Japanese), Italian, Greek, and more!

I am really nervous about this, but hope my family and my readers are supportive in my upcoming endeavor!

My first post will be up tomorrow, so let me know your thoughts!  And of course…any words of encouragement are welcome 🙂

I think this is a wonderful idea!
Of course no one likes the prospect of failure, but I would gather that no one likes the monotony of daily life either(at least, that describes me LOL)-If you don’t try, you’ll never push yourself to do things in the future.
Life is all about trial and error and if this ends up being a dud, you learn from the experience and move on, but at least you gave it a shot 😀
Who knows, you might get your next bright idea along the way!!

I think that it is a wonderful idea! I love Mexican, Asian, Italian & Greek food! Yum!! And, I am the same way when it comes to change & failure. But, change is a good thing. You never are truly living life if you don’t take chances. Every, single one of us experiences failure, but we eventually learn from our mistakes. Thats what makes us wiser & stronger~! 🙂

  17. I think it sounds like a wonderful idea and the fact that George is so supportive should make things so much easier for you – he is a great husband and dad… what a find you have!!

I am looking forward to your recipes, I love to experiment also, but with just the two of us, and of course Nano who loves to try our people food, especiall meat, I don’t try too many new recipes because it can get expensive to buy all the ingredients. I love when I get REAL peoples take on recipes.

You are gonna do a fantastic job!!

  18. Jessie C. says:
