Today, I was talking to a blogging friend of mine.  She is a regular on Twitter.  She told me about the death of another blogger – @prissygreen – who had committed suicide.  As soon as I heard the news, my heart sunk.  I did not know Karissa, nor had I ever seen her blog.  I visited her blog – Prissy Green and thought it was great!  If I had known about it, I’m sure I would have been a subscriber.  I read her last post and tears came to my eyes.  There were so many heartfelt and loving comments for her and her family that were posted today – both by people who knew her and didn’t know her.

I read her “About” page and came to learn that she was only 31 year olds (a year older than me) with her whole life ahead of her.  She came from a large family and was in a long time relationship with the love of her life, Craig, in Indianapolis, along with their 2 dogs.  She worked hard to be green and even had her own store.

I am continually amazed at the support blogging provides to both men and women.  I did not see nasty comments, but I saw supportive comments for Karissa’s family members and friends, as well as herself.  My heart and thoughts go out to her family and friends at this time.  Please remember, if you feel down and feel like there is nothing you can do about it, talk to someone – whether it’s a family, friend, or fellow blogger.  Never ever give up!  Hugs to everyone out there!

It’s just breaking my heart about this. She was so beautiful and full of life.

I blog about my battle with depression a lot. I was once suicidal, but I was able to get help. This is reality for me, to see what happens to those who loose a loved one to suicide. It makes my battle a little more desperate. I don’t want my family to have this type of pain. This post was a eye opener.

It breaks my heart too. She left behind so much. Prayers for her beautiful family.

  4. She was such a beautiful person, inside and out. She was the first fellow blogger to help me get started blogging, and she was soooo nice. The blogosphere will definitely be dimmer without her, as her blog was awesome. She was awesome.
    She will be greatly missed.

    Sending condolences.

So very sad when I read about her passing yesterday. I was a hyge fan of her blog and my heart stopped when I read the news thinking she was so beautiful, talented and so much to live for. I pray that she finds her peace in the arms of an angel. God Bless her and her family in this time of hour of need.

I’m praying for her loved ones to find peace and comfort in such a trying time.
She really had a great site and I just wish she could have found the strength to
reach out to someone to help her, so she wouldn’t have felt there was no hope
    or strength for living.
I’ll miss her, though I didn’t personally know her. I do know at times I commented
on some of her posts because I felt she did them very well.

I heard yesterday. Such a tragedy of a young and beautiful life. I hope someone can eventually make sense out of the mysteries of depression. My heart goes out to her loved ones.

I heard about this just this morning and quite honestly it felt like something smacked me in the face while simultaneously punching me in the stomach.
I subscribed to her blog, but hadn’t been there for a while so it was hard for me when I heard what had happened.
Suicide is something close to me, so when someone takes their own life, it hurts.
I just hope and pray she is finally at peace.

How sad! I didn’t know this blogger, but it is still a terrible thing to hear about.

  12. By all means, to anyone out there who feels they are alone or cannot do it by themselves… reach out.
Just post a short comment that says you are overwhelmed and you need help. There are a lot of people out there that will help you and that are in a similar situation and can point you in the right direction. Several of US have been there!!
As Shannon said… {{{Hugs}}} to all of you!
