Featured Blogger Friday

I love Featured Blogger Fridays because it gives all of my readers and visitors, as well as myself, a chance to get to know other bloggers out in the blogosphere. Today, I have the privilege of introducing a blogger who has visited my site several times (thanks for the sweet comments) and whom I have come to know a little bit more – Kari.  I love her cheerful and real personality and I can’t wait to meet her in person some day.  I love reading her blog and find myself often identifying with her experiences, as well as her thoughts and feelings.   I love her wonderful writing style and her blog, A Giveaway Addicted Mommy, is awesome! Without further ado…..here’s Kari!!  

What made you choose the name of your blog?

I began blogging as a form of communication with my students when I was a teacher. When I was put on bedrest with my second child, I had a lot of time to surf the net and got addicted to entering giveaways. It was all I did all day. So since I was already blogging I just started a new blog to share giveaways I had found and also to keep the family updated with the goings on in my home. Wish I could change it – thinking of using the acronym AGAM just to make things easier but still can’t decide.

Who designed your blog?

My husband is my technical support/web designer.  I tell him what I like and he starts fiddling until I say that I like it. I love tulips and living in a house with 4 males, I figured my little corner of the blogosphere should be girly.

What do you love about blogging?

I love thinking about something other than: What is for dinner?, Who is poopy now? Did I remember to feed the dog? Where is the dog?  Writing keeps me sane. Keeps my brain from turning into mashed baby cereal. I also love the connections I have made with some wonderful people and companies.

What is the purpose of your blog?

Aside from keeping me from losing my mind – It has become a place where I get to share products and companies that I feel are worthy of your hard earned money. Who has the time to search out each and every great cleaning product or toy? I also get the chance to help promote smaller companies who may not have the ability to advertise to the extent a larger company can. That has become a huge focus of mine.
 
Do you have any blogging tips (i.e. from those getting started to those who have been blogging longer than you)?

Don’t forget to remember who you are. Every once in a while step back and see if the direction you are moving in, is where you really want to go. There is healthy competition and then there is plenty of ugly competition too. Blogging should not be a popularity contest, however if that is where your wind is blowing… there are plenty of bloggers out there that will try to take the wind out of your sail. Me personally, I will be the one out there in my little rowboat just enjoying the ride. Anyone can join me, just don’t rock the boat please. (How’s that for a metaphor? LOL)

 Are you married?  If so, how long?

We have been married for 6 years.

Do you have children?  If so, how many?

We have 3 boys. Nathan is 17 years, Jake is 2 1/2 years, and Luke is 1 year old.

 What is your favorite movie of all time?

Favorite movie is When Harry Met Sally. French Kiss is a close second.

Who is your favorite actor?

 I am from the Brat Pack Era so it is Rob Lowe. He is still so HOT!

What is your favorite dessert?

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

What is your favorite holiday?

Mother’s Day of course!

 If you were on a deserted island by yourself, what are 2 things you would have?

A solar/crank radio and photo album with pictures of my family and friends.
