I love Featured Blogger Fridays because it gives all of my readers and visitors, as well as myself, a chance to get to know other bloggers out in the blogosphere. Today, I have the privilege of introducing a blogging friend of mine – Cat.  She is amazing and I can’t wait to meet her in person some day.  I love reading her blog and find myself often identifying with her experiences, as well as her thoughts and feelings.   I love her wonderful writing style and her blog, 3 Kids and Us, is awesome! Without further ado…..here’s Cat!! 

What made you choose the name of your blog?

Choosing the name, 3 Kids and Us, was really easy. I started my blog right after I found out I was pregnant with my third child and wanted to chronicle my journey of this surprise pregnancy. Let’s just hope I don’t have to change the name to 4 Kids and Us anytime soon.

Who designed your blog?

One of my favorite things about blogging is that I get to tap into my creative side, which is why I do all of the design work for my blogs. I do tend to get bored easily so you’ll see my design change every few months.

What do you love about blogging?

The people! I’ve met so many fabulous women (and a few men) because of having a blog. We all may live in different areas of the country or even different countries, but through blogs and writing we’ve found common ground that has brought together friendships I would never have had without my blog.

What is the purpose of your blog?

My blog is an extension of me. I write about my life, my kids, my thoughts, feelings, products we use, love and hate. One day I could be sharing a poop story then next day telling you about the product we used to clean it up.

Do you have any blogging tips (i.e. from those getting started to those who have been blogging longer than you)?

My biggest tip would be to individualize your blog. If you don’t stand out from the crowd, visitors will never remember you. This means choosing a blogging platform that meeds your needs, a custom template, infuse your blog with YOUR style and taste.

Are you married?  If so, how long?

My husband Jon and I have been married 8 long years. Eight! Can you believe that? I have a hard time believing that some days especially since we started with the odds stacked against us. We were young (18 and 21), an interracial couple and expecting our first child.

Do you have children?  If so, how many?

We have been blessed with the magic number of three children. Mattison our 8 year old is the geeky, Star Wars loving, sensitive soul of the bunch. Kaydence is our bouncing , curly headed, social butterfly two year old. And baby Emmaleigh is our surprise child that leaves us scratching our heads with her quiet and mysterious ways.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

I’m a romantic at heart that has seen Steel Magnolias at least a couple hundred times and I expect to watch it at least 1,000 more!

Who is your favorite actor?

I’ve always been a big fan of Denzel Washington. He’s one of those great actors that can play out any type of role and do it well.

What is your favorite dessert?

Oh that’s easy. Tiramisu, it’s heaven in your mouth!
 
What is your favorite holiday?

To be honest, I’m not a really big fan of holidays. They’ve become so commercialized and full of stress, I prefer to enjoy the quiet and peaceful moments

If you were on a deserted island by yourself, what are 2 things you would have?

Well first of all, if this island has sand on it I want a sand proof, water proof bubble to hang out in. And second, a LOT of sunscreen. Have you seen how pale I am?

And of course, you know me, there has to be a chocolate question.  What is your favorite candy bar?

 Kit Kats are God’s gift to the humanity (and my tummy)!
