Featured Blogger Friday

I’m sorry for the delay everyone. We’ve had a lot happening at our house recently (when don’t we with a family of 5 – including the 3 boys – lol)! So, here is our Featured Blogger Friday on Saturday. Better late than never 🙂 I e-met Kailani from An Island Life and Family Review Network (woot woot!), who lives in Hawaii – lucky girl! She’s also the author behind Aloha Friday, which you may see on many blogs throughout the blogosphere! Here is a little more about Kailani on The Mommy-Files’ Featured Blogger Friday!

What made you choose the name of your blog?

I wanted a blog name that kind of described what I’d be writing about. An Island Life seemed suitable since I blog about my daily life in Hawaii.

Who designed your blog?

The original design was done by Leanne. I loved the original layout she did and received a lot of compliments on it. However, I’ve recently changed over to a magazine style layout (thanks to Desperately Seeking WordPress) so I could combine both my personal & review blogs.

Why do you blog?

It started as a way to connect with other bloggers who have common interests. I was a SAHM at the time and it was nice to meet others who I could relate to. Then I started doing product reviews and loved sharing my opinions as well as getting cool things for my family to try out. Now it’s purely out of addiction. 🙂

What is the purpose of your blog?

To record and share my daily life so that one day I can look back and reminise all these wonderful moments. Kids grow up too quickly and I know I won’t remember everything that happened.

Do you have any blogging tips (i.e. from those getting started to those who have been blogging longer than you)?

Be true to yourself and have fun. You have to enjoy blogging in order to be good at it.

Are you married? If so, how long?

I’ve been married for 8 years now. My husband and I met in a sports bar and had no idea at the time that we worked for the same company!

Do you have children? If so, how many?

I have 2 girls (ages 3 & 7) with another girl on the way. My poor husband is surrounded by estrogen! Even the cats are females!

What is your favorite movie of all time?

That’s a tough one. I don’t know if I have just one favorite but the ones that I can watch over and over again are The American President, Invinsible, Pretty Woman, & While You Were Sleeping.

Who is your favorite actor?

Keanu Reeves. He’s not the best actor around but he sure is nice to look at!

What is your favorite dessert?

It would have to be White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory.

What is your favorite holiday?

Christmas! I love the holidays because there’s always something fun to do with the family. Even if it’s just walking around the neighborhood looking at all the decorated houses.

And of course, you know me, there has to be a chocolate question. What is your favorite candy bar?

Is Reese’s considered a candy bar? It’s my favorite!
