Great Wolf Lodge Staycation – Day 2 of 3
On Day 2, we received a wake-up phone call at about 6:30 a.m. (I scheduled this the night before). I got up and jumped in the shower and got ready while the rest of the family was asleep. My family and I, along with the other bloggers and their families, were invited to the Mommy Blogger Breakfast at Great Wolf Lodge, starting at 8:00 a.m.
When I walked into the room, it was much more than I thought it would be. I figured they would give us pastries or bagels and fruit. To my amazement, there were tables with Swag and a whole breakfast bar. They had even set up tables for the kids, decorated with balloons, crayons, coloring books, and coupons for a free scoop of ice cream!
I was so hungry and was amazed at the food they had waiting for us. There was tons of sausage, bacon, hash browns, and even an order-your-own-omelette bar! I had bacon, ham, sausage, mushrooms, onions, spinach, and cheese in mine. Let me tell you – it was awesome!! 
I had the opportunity to meet John Poole, the Director of Sales & Marketing for Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, Washington as well as Maggie, who helped set up the Blogger Breakfast and who heads up the Cub Club. Plus we received a special appearance from Wiley the Wolf in person! 
John talked to us about Great Wolf Lodge during the breakfast. I learned that Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, Washington opened in March 2008. They are 100% Green Sealed Certified, reusing much of the water in the water park, thus cutting down on the expenses of electricity and the waste of water. I also love that they have Project Green Wolf. Last year, they recycled 250,000 tons of recycled material from the hotel. In your hotel room, you’ll find a trash can and a recycle bin. What a brilliant idea and the first hotel I’ve been in that provides both! Kudos to Great Wolf Lodge.
I had not been in the Water Park yet, so I was anxious to hear what John had to say about some of the slides. Did you know that the Water Park is 60,000 square feet of wet fun and that there are 7 different slides including 2 Tube Slides, 2 Body Slides, 2 Kiddie Slides, and the Howlin’ Tornado? My 3 year old had a blast on the Kiddie Slides and my 5 year old had tons of fun in Fort McKenzie, which John warned us about having the Big Bucket and that you might get wet! It was funny to watch the unsuspecting people walk underneath. If you had been in the Water Park for any amount of time, you would know what happens next. My husband and 5 year old had a blast standing under it and getting drenched. Oh and a warning to those going on the water slides in Fort McKenzie, you will get wet (or drenched) while waiting in line!
I had the opportunity to go on a few of the water slides and they were so much fun! My husband went on the Howlin’ Tornado with one of the other bloggers’ husbands and he didn’t have too much to stay about it. I wouldn’t go on it though – I guess I’m too chicken. After all, it’s an enclosed six-story extreme tube ride with a 65-foot funnel drops 30 feet every second – YIKES!!
After spending half the day at the Water Park, we were pooped. We went with one of the other families to dinner at a Mexican restaurant up the street. The food was good and the price was great, but the service wasn’t high quality. One of the poor servers even tripped and fell while we were eating our food – poor thing!
Afterwards, we headed back to our rooms and my 5 year old managed to talk my husband into taking him and the 3 year old back to the Water Park for about an hour. Afterwards, everyone changed and we headed out to Scoops to get ice cream for the boys and us of course!
Just when we thought the night was over, we went up to our room. I noticed the 5 year old playing with his tooth, and with his dad’s help, his 2nd loose tooth came out! Granted the Tooth Fairy doesn’t come on the weekends to our house, but it was something we won’t forget about at Great Wolf Lodge. 
By the end of the day, there were no problems at all getting the boys to fall asleep!

– There is a mini-fridge and microwave in each and every room, as well as a hairdryer.
– There is a clothes line you can set up in the bathroom to help your swimming clothes dry faster.
Lost Children
– If you lose your child, the staff at Great Wolf Lodge will not hesitate for a second, but will actively begin searching for the missing child.
Eating at Great Wolf Lodge
– If you are on a tight budget and eating out at while staying at Great Wolf Lodge is not feasible with your budget, you can bring in food from home and prepare your own meals (again microwave and fridge are provided in each room).
Service to Expect
– You will get quality service from the staff at Great Wolf Lodge and will leave wanting to go back again for more!
