Mommy Moments Mondays

At the end of July, it officially will be a year since I started blogging. When I first started to blog, I would write one post every few days and was lucky to have a handful of comments, usually from family or friends. I remember how excited I was when I had my first follower and then 2…3…4..and 5.

Then IT HAPPENED! I stumbled on a mommy blog and entered a giveaway for a party planning book. A week later, I received an email saying I had won! WHAT??!!! I never win anything! I am the person who is at a baby shower or party with 5 people and DOESN’T WIN! This was a great feeling! I entered a few other giveaways and won another one for some personalized invitations! AWESOME! Then the bloggy carnival happened – um…I think I spent 2 hours entering contests (no, I’m not kidding) and I won a few more items.

I was really enjoying the giveaways, but I also had the chance to read entries posted by other Mommy Bloggers (or Moms Who Blog). You mean, I’m not alone in feeling guilty for not being able to keep my house clean all the time? I’m not the only one who jumps in the shower sometimes at 3:00 p.m. because I’ve been busy with kids all morning long? I’m not the only mom whose child is screaming or throwing a fit in the store with the older people (and younger) giving me dirty looks and making “smart” comments? WOW – there are other moms just like me!!!

It can be hard to get out a lot with 3 kids, which was limiting my contact with other moms. Then I found Mommy Bloggers. I was making a comment to a friend telling her that I thought I had more friends through blogging than in real life!
