Most of us have vinegar as a staple in our kitchen cupboards. But do you know where your Vinegar comes from? No, I’m not talking about what grocery store, I’m talking about where it comes from. Don’t feel bad if you don’t, because according to a recent Heinz survey, 89% of vinegar users didn’t know that their vinegar might be produced from petroleum and 79% indicated they would switch brands if they knew it was!
Vinegar can come from one of two places. It can come from natural sources such as apples or corn or it can come from cheaper resources such as Petroleum – yikes! You wouldn’t know that your vinegar comes from petroleum because there is no requirement stating that vinegars need to disclose their source on their packaging. That is really scary if you ask me!!!
You can rest assured knowing that Heinz Vinegars (Distilled White and Apple Cider) come from corn or apples and crystal clear water. You get the best when you buy with Heinz – naturally good since 1869! Plus you can get money saving coupons when you visit them online.

According to a recent survey, here are some interesting facts:

– 60% of survey respondents use vinegar in meals, snacks and side dishes
– 82% use vinegar when preparing salads and salad dressings at home
– 89% of vinegar users were unaware that vinegar might be made from anything other than natural sources, and more specifically, might be petroleum-based
– 79% indicated that they would switch the brand of vinegar they currently buy if they found out it was made from petroleum
– 50% of those surveyed felt that using all-natural products in food preparation was important
